might want to remove his name/link to his profile if you want to avoid a suspension for calling out.

There is a Guideline and FAQ for this.

  • Use the appropriate avenues for support. If you have an issue with another user, submit a ticket with a user report, rather than calling them out within the community or on the forum.

i think that's useless . even if he's been banned from SR he still looking for another victim with clone id . i guess .

Tell the guy who is being impersonated that he is being impersonated. Report the scammer to steam rep. Calling people out here isn't allowed because people can make false accusations. And unfortunately it doesn't work as I have seen the same scammers called out several times - clearly nobody checks old discussions before trading.

Well, if it's any consolation, I think it's the third (fourht, if you count Delta's one too) thread I see about this scammer on those forums. Sadly, as those didn't help you, I'm afraid this one won't be of much help either. Most times victims of those scams don't even know what impersonators are. Other times they are just in hurry/tired/whatever to check properly.

Just a suggestion: use Enhanced Steam. It adds SG, SteamRep and other useful links to the profile of the user, which is very useful for previous checking on the random adds.

I'm being more than never, as I was scammed few weeks ago, not by an impersonator, but lost a fairly decent amount in a chargeback on a PayPal transaction made on the rush with someone with no trading background.......... :(

Anyways... Best of luck in your future trades and be careful as well. :)

I have Enhanced Steam but it just shows links to other sites if their account are set to private !

If their account are set to public then i don't see any link to SG or SR or ...... !

Hm, maybe you have to force an update, as I use it on FF too, but I never tried to see that, on private profiles, as I usually I insta-delete such requests, but oftten I search directly by their id or profile URL on SR.

On SG, you can check by this: http://www.steamgifts.com/trade/ERWWE/find-user-by-steam-id

Report him on steam and tick the box "impersonating another user". Even if Steam support won't reverse item trades that were a scam, you can still report him and if there's enough evidence he may get a trade ban. The aim would be to get his main account banned as well, which is pretty easy to find in his friends list. Valve could do an IP check or something along those lines.

If all you do is move on and forget about it, he'll just continue scamming others.
