Do you hate Freemium? I have grown to hate it these days, particularly because a lot of the time the games are made just to piss you off into buying, which does not work with me, but it still pisses you off.

Thoughts?

Have you had enough of freemium yet?

Its like when you take a girl on a date to the park expecting it to be a cheap or a free date and once you hit the middle of the park she finds the fancy restaurant and 20 dollar boat rides.

So far it hasnt bothered me yet.
I know premium members are supposed to get major advantages, but i never felt like I'm at a disadvantage, and I played many f2p games

Not really because most shooting games I play that use it, I can easily outplay the freemium players by having better aim.

some years ago I played runescape which have membership but you can play it for free...I always wanted to do things that members do too so I bought membership for one day and then I realized its really premium because I dont need it, I could enjoy it even without membership...I also played a lotof "free" games which are not good until you buy membership....in runescape it is[was...I dont play it anymore] good, you can play game and premium is actually premium and not half of base game

Not all F2P games are freemium. But those that are i don't play. I just don't have the money.

Depends on your definition of freemium. Diffrent games offer diffrent degree of advantage. I like models where you can either pay for content, or earn it through gameplay.

I hate only when its really obvious pay to win model.

Tribes, Super MNC, and many other games handle it fine. Its a free game, put a couple dollars in if you feel the need. These devs, they know that many people wont buy a full priced game unless its a popular franchise a lot of the time. I doubt Tribes(Twitch shooters aren't as popular as they once were sadly) and Super MNC would have the amount of players it has now if it wasn't for the f2p model.

I tend to stay well clear of them on the PC, but freemium games on mobile platform tend to annoy me a fair bit. Not that it doesn't work as a sales model, of course. Its great success has only spawned more freemium apps, which I find pretty reprehensible to be honest.

It's impossible to group f2p games together. You have to consider each game one at a time. Even games with the exact same model on paper don't execute it the same. I'd have to say that the best f2p model out there is LotRO. I've never felt like I had to pay to actually enjoy the game or that I was at a disadvantage for not paying. That feeling lead me to spend money on it eventually. It's not the model that's flawed; it's the individual game/developer.
