I was actually going to recommend Clive Cussler books, never thought anyone else would suggest it. @OP, you should also check out the Oregon files series, and for a bit of a change, the Fargo adventures. I personally am not a huge fan of the Issac Bell series myself, but they are another good one.

Scifi: "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline. It's something for gamers and people who like 80's. Fantasy: try the Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski (IMO the short stories are better than novels but you can try both) if you like the story, you should play the game series by CD Projekt RED based on the world created by Sapkowski- very good RPGs

I readed the books after playing the first Witcher, i was so interested in the world that when i heard it was based on a book i haved to read them all! D:

Yes, you should be able to find the five books in an omnibus since they arent very long. they reminded me a lot of what it might be like living in a vault from fallout.

How about some urban fantasy? The Hollows series by Kim Harrison is fantastic! As a bonus, I'll give you my review of the first book (no spoilers):
Dead Witch Walking, by Kim Harrison
Book 1 of *The Hollows*
Imagine our world if science had taken a different path: Instead of turning our attention to the stars, we focused instead on bioengineering the perfect weapon to unleash on our enemies... and it escaped in true Stephen King-The Stand-esque style, wiping out a quarter of the Earth's human population.
Now imagine that the creatures who have been hiding in the dark -- or even living beside us inconspicuously for centuries -- seize upon the chance to finally live in our world openly. Vampires and werewolves, fairies and pixies, leprechauns and more come to the forefront, creating a new kind of society, with new rules to play by.
This is a world where man never made it to the moon, bioengineering is not only outlawed, but the most heinous of crimes, brimstone is the new cocaine, and witching is not only an art, but a blood right.
The Federal Inderlander Bureau, or F.I.B., is the human-run side of the law, whilst the Inderland Security (I.S.) controls the non-human side of business. This is where our heroine comes in. Rachel Morgan is white witch, and a bounty hunter (or runner) for the I.S. Using street smarts, highly-defined reflexes, and an utter lack of fear, she is very good at what she does, but somehow things keep going wrong, and the job offers just keep getting worse and worse. How much can a good witch take? The problem is that the I.S. doesn't just let people break their contract, and the last Inderlander who did "accidentally" ended up blown to pieces...
Add to the mix a bad-tempered pixie, a hot-blooded living vampire, and a corrupt but oh-so-sexy politician, and you have Dead Witch Walking, the first book of *The Hollows*.
I knew none of the above when I started reading, and was thus confused in the beginning. Rachel kept referring to things that had happened previously, and while I was confident that the author was just trying to give us some background information on our heroine, I still had to double-check that I wasn't coming in to the middle of the series (made that mistake once already! haha) Still, it didn't take long to catch on to the ins-and-outs of this new society that our author has created, and to get sucked in to the story.
I'm currently over 350-pages in to this 416-page novel, and loving every minute of it. I finally found a good breaking point (this far in XD ) where I could step away and do this review. It is very hard to put down! Suffice to say that I am greatly enjoying this book, and will be picking up the rest of the series ASAP!
Since I wrote the above review, I flew threw ALL of the books in the series except for the last two released. I have The Undead Pool, but I don't want to start it until I have The Witch With No Name -- these books are SO addictive!

Book: The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski
FunFact: Andrzej Sapkowski once said:
"The right is like an ass.
Everybody has it's own.
But you shouldn't show it to everybody."
Fact: He is Polish guy :)
Fact: Me too

I readed already the Witcher books, and they are very amazing! D:

For a book, I'd go with the Shannara (spelling?) series or the Dark Tower series from Stephen King if you haven't already. I've been meaning to finish both for years. I've been attempting to bribe my way into several whitelists recently by selling slightly used, 100% legit organs as well, but no takers, so I have a surplus in stock. Buy one organ, get a hand job free.

Dark Tower series are great, but be aware... but because spoilers i will not say anything xD
Shannara by Terry Brooks? If yes, then i already readed D:

I have just the last one to catch up on, and yeah, by Terry Brooks. Michael Creighton has to be my favorite Scifi author. The Sphere and Andromeda strain were probably my favorites. He can get slightly technical, but nowhere near Tom Clancy Technical.

I love sci fi books, i have read a lot of them... i can't remember all, but one of the books or serie in this case i have enjoyed more is the Heeche saga (Frederik Pohl).
The first one won many awards: Hugo, Nebula, Campbell Memorial...
I really recomend these books if you haven't read them yet, and if you like there are two more titles of this saga (i have't read them) but are only a collection of short stories.
