Can you do The Three Musketeers? It's by a french author and is a great read!

Definitely, Robinson Crusoe. I don't remember how long it is but it is a great book with a story that will pull you in and keep you interested.

I would strongly recommend one of the skulduggery pleasant series of books.

He's clearly asking from the list, why are you suggesting some lame childrens book? :D

I'd go for:
William Shakespeare - Romeo and Juliet (Or Midsummer Night's Dream if that's an option), if you're up to the challenge. Hard to get into, but very rewarding if you do.
Otherwise:
Daniel Defoe - Robinson Crusoe. A lot easier to read, but very engaging and a good showcase for character evolution.
For the French list I only know the work of Victor Hugo, but he's easy to recommend.

Well, you should read all of them, really, because they all deserve it but if I had to choose one I would choose Camus' L'Etranger. Nevertheless I feel that you would love Mark Twain or Daniel Defoe better.

Read Romeo and Juliet, if you can read other books besides the ones listed here try The Tempest by Shakespeare, it's a really good book plus the story is quite nice.

The little prince. half hour read. Great book.
I haven't read the others ,but Madame bovary is mandatory for me. Im half way through, not my cup of tea, but not bad too bad. Also it's hard to read when I got unread Bradbury books laying around:)

'The Importance of Being Earnest' for me because I'm a massive fan of Wilde's work, 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' was fantastic. Just so you know though a few of these are plays so you may struggle to read them. Out of the novels I'd choose 'David Copperfield'.

Importance of Being Earnest is pretty short, so if you want something short and easy that's a good one. Though personally, I'd prefer Romeo and Juliet of those because I love tragic romance.

Romeo and Juliet is both short and extremely well-known. It's not an easy read, but with all the excessive information about it, you should be able to understand the play quite easily. Just use SparkNotes or something like that.

Personally I would go with Shakespeare, but another personal point, avoid dickens, that dude is boring as hell.

It's fairly short too...
David Copperfield is very long. But I thought it was good. Everyone else in my class at the time hated it though. :D
