I'd like to see your taste in music, so please tell me what is your all-time favourite band. You may only choose one, so choose carefully.
Personally, I just love Linkin Park.

Nadja, because I'm a fucked up depressing hipster.

Not really though, I listen to a l ot of mainstream stuff but those two can make some rather... dense and atmospheric music. Check them out if you're into drone metal or post rock.

The National.

And not because of "Exile Vilify" (in fact, I think it's one of the few songs I don't quite like by them).

Although there's some neat stuff in that list, I think it's all too jarring for people with dislike of metal. I think something like Alcest is a better entry-level recommendation.

you read my mind there, I was considering Souvenirs... too, but i'd rather to have a clear & definitive borders between genres whenever i'm making introductions, thus links to different bands of their respective genres. Or if i want to introduce the blackgaze, i prefer to link bands that are on the harsher side a la Fen and Lantlos, as i think Alcest is too mellow sometime. Not a bad thing though.

I've listened to Underground Youth via last.fm, but haven't heard the other two. I'll check them out. I think you'd like a local band from around me called Brujas del Sol. All their music is free. Also, check this out. I think you'll love it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0gjwpMb-k8

Check out their newest Album "The Power Within". They have a new singer, but oh my God is he on par with ZP. The songs are shorter, averaging around 5 minutes instead of 7, but they're still amazing. "Seasons", from this album, is probably tied with "Soldiers of the Wasteland" from Sonic Firestorm for my favorite DF Song
