I just experienced a rather worrying anomaly in steam.

I was using my browser and just browsing the store page, when I noticed that my avatar had changed. Worried that I got hacked, I checked my profile, and found out that I was logged in as another user (someone from South Africa who I had never heard of). Went back to the store page and found myself logged out, but the storepage was in Finnish. Tried to switch back to English and then it was suddenly in Russian. I've been logged in on the steam client as well, and nothing changed there. Same avatar, no messages about someone trying to log in on my account or anything like that.

i guess they're fixing it. i can't see some random dude's sensitive information in account details anymore.

edit: nevermind. logged out and logged back in. it's back.
edit 2: clicking wallet money and username > account details doubles the fun (shows two different persons' info.). gaben should go easy on eggnog.

Same is happening to me. I just got back, went to the Store and found that I'm now called "kaisergamer18" and have 101 games in my wishlist... which is way too much because I have barely 20. And if I click to visit my profile, it links to this place, which is totally wrong:

(LINK REMOVED)

That's not me, and my Steam wallet seems to be almost empty. Officially, I'm a little scared... (O_o)
I will try to log-in with the Steam client now...

UPDATE: Everything seems to be okay with the Steam client... for now (–_–)
UPDATE2: Nope, same thing happens with the client. For some reason, I had a game I never tried to buy in my cart: Garry's Mod. I don't have even the slightest interest in that game... (O_o)
UPDATE3: Now I'm "(USERNAME REMOVED)"... WTF?! (O_O)

Don't log out! If you're logged in, you'll get a pop-up in the client when someone tries to access you.

Technically I'm log in on the client, but I'm not doing anything there. I logged off from the site (was browsing shop when this happened).

Regarding this issue, it can be assumed that they've lost control over their servers.

If the caching issues are correct, it's not related to the mobile app at all.

So far it doesn't seem to be necessary, the data leak is coming from the caching system somehow and random data appears. But information from databases was not accessed directly.

I hope valve to make things right, ultimately therefore we pay them with our money.
