I got an e-mail earlier today about Groupees new Steampunk 3 bundle and Ion Robots Bundle, both starting in ~22 hours from when I originally wrote this. You can actually reserve them now for a discount. Steampunk is $1 now, and will be $2 when it's released. Ion Robots is $1 now for the full bundle, but will be $1 for 2 games upon release (so build-a-bundle style). They haven't released details about what these bundles will contain, making these pre-orders a bit of a gamble. Granted, it's very little money, but I still thought I'd ask for opinions on these. What do you think? Do we have a reasonable idea of what games are expected to show up in these two bundles? Is it worth reserving them now, or is it better to wait and see what we're actually getting? Thanks for your input.

I rarely pre-order anything, except meat, but I decided I'd make an exception for these 2 Groupee charity bundles. :)

Steampunk 2 was awesome! 5 games and tons of comics and e-books. It was one of the most content heavy bundle at groupees. If you'd like to get some nice books with the bundle and you're not only going for the games, steampunk reserve is a no-brainer :)

Ion Robots has cards, so people who reserved can get some of their money back. I'm out of luck on steampunk though. I want my$1 back.

Well, quite. Windforge is great, but the other games are terrible. There is 5 ( FIVE ) albums out of the 13 items in a non-music bundle, and first unlock will be another album. Seriously. Music can be good as an extra, but it's not a good base.
I feel bad about this bundle. I do hope it can redeem itself through the bonues, but as far as I seen this one, I won't "reserve" a bundle. At least the Ion robots bundle turned out quite well for me.

Excellent, have Steam Punk 3 and most of the downloads aren't working for me....had no trouble with Groupees before, but now I'm pretty sure I won't preserve anything from them again

Reserved Ion Robots... already own 3 games in the bundle, but they are good ones so the bundle is actually worth it. Now it's time to go to steamtrades.

Thanks for the feedback. I decided to wait and see what they bundles would have. While the prices were cheaper pre-release, I didn't really like the idea of paying for a bundle without knowing what was in it. Now that the bundles are out, I'm glad I waited.

Steampunk 3 has 5 games (13 items total), 1 of which I own, 3 of which are Greenlight candidates, and 1 that's free-to-play. I typically don't buy lots of Greenlight games, because there's no guarantee they'll make it to Steam and I prefer not to use Desura (I just have so much more on Steam that I try to keep as much as possible there), so this isn't a particularly attractive bundle to me. Also, I didn't buy either of the first two Steampunk bundles, which suggested I might not like this one. Since I think I'll pass on this one, waiting was a good choice.

As for the Ion Robots Bundle, the main set has 5 games not including bonuses, 4 of which I already own and 1 Greenlight candidate. There is one game in the bonuses that I don't have, but this isn't really enough to get me to buy the bundle, especially since it's now a 2-game minumum which would require me to buy at least one game I already own. So this is a pass, too, and waiting was a good choice.

I'm not sure if I'll pass on all such future bundles offering a discount if you reserve them pre-release. But in this case, waiting was the right choice for me and it saved me a little bit of money (that I can use for a different bundle I'm more interested in).
