what's sad here? people on SG come from all over the world. The moment you win GA GA creator can be at work, can be eating dinner with his family, can even be asleep cause it's middle of a night in his timezone. On top opf that he's the one who is giving you a game for free, not to mention that according to rules he has 7 days to do so. You posting things like that is only proving how entitled you feel, while in reality you are the one who's getting free shit and should be greatful bout that, not demanding bout that thinking that someone should send you stuff minute after GA ended. Especially as you mentioned yourself you got your game 120min after GA ended, 2h out of 7 days, yet still not good enough for you. That's what is Sad. here.

tbh - what lengths? nothing in your OP indicates throughly it's a joke. As much as it could be viewed as a joke the same way it could be 100% serious. Poe's law is a bitch ;p

1st. Check the attached image.
2nd Check the phrase "...the very first minute". Do you really think anybody would feel angry that they didnt get a game the second the giveaway is over??
3rd. Check my other joking replies in the thread.
4rd. And lastly, if you really think I'm serious, check my Steam library. Why the fuck would I bitch about getting a game as soon as possible when I already have a shit-tone of games I havent even begun playing?

@1 Image can be interpret both as joking and as serious. The mimic can mean either "wth" regarding not getting game or people who are "wth,m why didn't I get game"
@2 There's been countless forum topics made by users minutes after GA ended why they didn't receive their game.
@3 You cannot expect people to get what you mean from your replies in the thread if your OP alone can be easilly missinterpret.
@4 Not only irrelevant but also you actually have very small library numbers-wise compared to an avg active SG user. Some of my card-farming alts which are mainly feed with freebies and cheap, unwanted bundle leftovers have more games in library than you do. Ofc it does not mean your library suck or sth like that, I simply point out that having 163 games in library is far far away from being considered "shit-tone" of games, at least in this community.

TL;DR Again - Poe's Law. Easilly misinterpret "joking" content is bound to become missinterpret ;)

  1. True, though I thought this was pretty clear.
  2. I dont visit the forums too often so it sounds strange, but if you say it I'll believe you (you know, as opposed to insisting you're lying like you keep telling me :D)
3.Now here I'm forced to believe you're just really bent on sticking to your guns. Come one man, it's pretty clear I'm just having fun with all the people here.
  3. Quite relevant, since the library, though small in number, still contains a large non-played to played ratio of games. Again, why make a fuss when I have so many games I have yet to play?

lol same here (although honestly... if the system could automate the part of "after winner is selected, verify that winner does not already own game and send key else reroll and repeat" that would make me very very happy... i like being lazy)

I actually check all winners of my non-group/WL GAs so I would not like this system, unless it would be opt-in, then no problem with that ;p Thing being that moment someone wins something from you and you check their profile is the only moment possible to catch rulebreakers who are not stupid enough to call themselves out in the forums ;p Because support can suspend someone only when they get report ticket for them, if whole key sending was automatic (and with no more gift purchases 99% of GAs gonna be keys) noone would ever catch a rulebreaker ;p

Comment has been collapsed.

Sorry, should clarify that for "verify that winner does not already own game" I was thinking a fresh lookup directly against the steam api should happen... not the cached lookup that SG usually goes by. I also check all my winners manually by going to their steam profile's games page (which takes forever to load... especially when they have more than 1000+ games) and then filtering to the GA. Mostly I would love it if that part of the process could be automatic... or even a button that I could click after the GA ends that would do the check for me. And I definitely agree it would need to be opt-in, if for no other reason than bc DLCs are not supported in the api (last I checked) so it would really only even be an option for games (and possibly bundle/packages if they don't contain DLC / the creator doesn't care about checking the DLC)

Personally, I don't care as much about reporting folks that have previously broken rules as I do about preventing cheating on my GA's (read: I am lazy) but to each their own. :-)

there is easy way to check your winner with as few clicks - http://www.sgtools.info/activation + http://www.sgtools.info/multiple-wins . Or even easier using this addon: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/YP3gk/userscript-add-sgtoolsinfo-links-to-your-giveaways-winners-page - with it you can check winner automatically with 1 click and without going to their profile page ;)

As for not reporting - I find it to be bad idea to ignore past rulebreakers. The thing is that if all people would act the way you do, these people would go unpunished. If they go unpunished they will think it's ok to cheat over and over again because noone with bother with them anyway, so they may end up cheating on your GA as well (for example regifting your GA) simply because you ignored their previous rulebreakings so they will think it's fine to do so with your GA as well.

it made my day brighter seeing all the gifs
thanks for the good laugh

but in all honesty its worse when someone activates the key within a few minutes then doesn't mark as revived or answer you for exactly a week...then finally marks as revived at the exact time (within a few minutes) you are allowed to make a "request feedback" ticket and when you blacklist them mutually blacklist you back

I don't mind waiting on publics (and if a guy BL me I couldn't care less, in current system he will be automatically BLed by me as well), but what I really hate is people doing that in all kinds of ratio groups/events. "I won from you, I activated but I will not mark as received until my own GA I just created ends in a few days, because if I marked it would hurt my ratio and I need to fix it first". Guess what - the same way I cannot enter anything, because despite delivering game my ratio is not fixed as long as you don't mark as received and I cannot enter some GA I'd like to.

I might be annoyed by that as well...if it wern't for the fact that I already have a high ratio in the only few ratio groups I'm in.

Meh, I had it set once where the GAs would end a little while after I got home. But I was so tired I pretty much laid down in bed and passed out for 12 hours. Whoops! So I try not to judge if it takes a little while for people to send the keys.

Now, I LOVE sending the keys and waiting 6.5 days for the winner to mark it received, even when they've been online a dozen times in the meantime.

I once created a big set of public GAs for all CV levels (it was back in SGv1 so b4 current level system), GAs were ending when I thought I would be home, but real life hit hard - my then gf now fiancee ended up in hospital, I was in different part of the country so obviously I went straight out, hitchhiked to town she was in, then went straight to hospital. Who would think bout SG in a moment like that? Long story short before I got online it was 3 days after GAs ended. What did I see when I logged into steam? Freaking 30+ comments on my profile from one of GA winners (I had profile set to allowing comments from all people). First comment 5 minutes after GA ended where can he get his game because he saw it right when it ended but there is no key! Then lots of other ranging from spam "give me game please", "why don't you send me my game", "why don't you accept friend invite" up to calling me a scammer 1 day later because I haven't send him game up to false claims that I trade-scammed him and whole page of "-rep" comments.

in SGv1 there were no site-integrated blacklists ;p You had to ask support via ticket for permission to use BL, make pastebin or similar file with all blacklisted users and post link to it in every GA description (and it could be used in private GAs only ;p). But yeah - even with these limits I did add this fucker to my blacklist, but he would still be able to enter and win any public GA of mine ;p ofc in SGv2 he went to new implemented BL ;p

Comment has been collapsed.

depends how you look at it ;) At one hand it was a pain now having WL/BL features, not having region lock GAs (all region locked GAs were prohibited back then), not having stats, not having lots of other stuff we get now, but on the other hand these 4-5 years ago there were much better discounts on steam sales, there were still steam store gift purchases available and most important there were almost none region locks beside just a few publishers enforcing them (so you could easilly ask your russian friend to buy you a gift of almost any steam game for 1/3 price in exhchange for paypal, or just find russian trader on steam trades and give it away on SG). So while SG was much harder to use back then on the other hand it was much easier to buy and gift non-bundle GAs for much less money ;p

In similar fashion in other thread I did not respond directly to certain person, whose name I dare not to speak, because maybe she will find it horribly harassing her again, I replied to person replying to her, and only then she replied back to me. So fact being it does not really matter if I was the first to reply to you or you the first to reply to me. Even in second case you may still end up being horrible harasser, no matter if you were the one who got replied sarcastically :( But like I said, I sincerely wish you were not, all best wishes and my prayers are with you dear sir.

If you're talking about here, you directly insulted her to another user. Please spare me the excuses. I've not insulted you once here. You invited yourself into the exchange (again). So yes, there's a very big difference, Zelghadis. If I went around to other users on the forums besmirching your name or attacking you, then yes, that would be harassment.

My suggestion: Stop obsessing over Mully and move on. You're only making yourself look bad.

Wasn't she trolling? Yes she was. Does she troll a lot? Yes she does. Is calling someone who is not only often trolling, but actually trolling in a specific comment you reply to a "troll" an insult? I'll wait for your answer ;) But if iyour answer is "yes", then you catching me on mispelling sarcastically above and making sarcastic remark about it is basically the same - I did misspell it, you called me out on misspelling (oh no! you harassed me so bad! ;p). She was trolling, I simply called her out on trolling.

It says enough for me that when exposed to an actual counterargument instead of trying to reply to it you go "doesn't matter, get over it" route without even adressing argument itself ;) Kinda indicates that you feel it cannot be defended ;) So like you said - now I will gladly move on, knowing that you yourself, even if just in common sense, realize that it's kinda bullcrap, cause you just did the same "horrible thing" I did yourself ;)
Have a good night ;)

What a typical reaction while being faced with an argument you feel uncomfortable with :D: I asked second time, and second time you ignored it using typical bs excuse arguments "stop embarassing yourself", "/facepalm", fits nice with previous "doesn't matter, get over it" route and all combined pretty much speaks for itself ;) Cheers! ;*

I work in the personal protection business, and because of that, I deal with people like you all the time at work. Obsessed fans, people angry at the government, religious extremists, animal rights activists -- you name it, I've seen it.

How do I deal with them? When they get out of line or harass a client, I remove them from the situation. They never understand what they've done wrong, so I don't bother explaining. I don't owe them anything and I'm not obligated in any way to answer their questions. I know it's not going to help matters if I did (and they always have excuses) Once they're outside, I continue to ignore them. While they're outside screaming and tossing a temper tantrum, telling anyone who'll listen how innocent they are and rationalizing it however they like, I smile, sometimes shake my head a little, and go make myself a cup of coffee.

I'm going to make myself a cup of coffee now, kiddo.

1 guy created a new account 5 weeks before 1st of April, make a GA of Fallout 4, with 4 weeks duration.
Everything seems fishy, New account, level 0, first GA created, he didnt entered in the 4 weeks of his GA duration, all the persons where this is a fake GA or the dude didnt know what he was making.

GA ended and days passes, everything seems it was a fake GA, but in the 6 day, he send the key. It was on April 1st (6th day) when he send it
