I used to play this game quite a bit, but since it went F2P it lost its appeal to me with some of the pointless restrictions they place on preferred members. Also since when I last checked there is no way to increase your credit cap without subscribing.

I think you can try TERA....it´s F2P since a few weeks (maybe a month). It has full controller support and looks funny, but i don´t like the controls^^

I played SW:ToR in closed beta, decided I didn't want it when it got released as it wasn't that entertaining, to me it was just another MMO that isn't WoW(despite quitting, its the most enjoyable one I have played so far, from beginning to finish)

LOTR Online has to be my favorite, although I don't play it that much anymore. They added it to steam too which is nice. If your a LOTR fan and like MMORPG's, I see no reason not to check it out.

I played the Beta, loved it. I bought it the day it came out started my leveling adventure got to about 50-something and got super fucking bored. The areas to level are dead as bricks. The PVP is stale, bland and supremely unbalanced. The operations are slow and boring to do again. The game was a mess when it came out, and it still is a mess. I feel cheated that I ever wasted life playing it.

Also TERA is free now as well, and it is pretty awesome. The game was great before it went free, and the free transition was "okay" I am worried they are heading in a bad direction though.

LOTRO is definitely my favorite. You can get a hell of alot out of it with just the strictly free to play version. I think at the end of the day I ended up spending close to $80 which included all the content + All 3 expansions (theres a newer one now though).
For the first 8 months though I didn't spend a cent.

Try Tera, really fun. Definitely not restricted like swtor. hint hint.
