ye, been looking for some AU people, but still can't confirm if AU region is region locked like RU/CIS/BR/SE Asia

It's not. At least, not normally. When I had access to the Dark Souls price error, they were all ROW copies.

It's nice for to happen in AU considering the extra charging prices in that region. Wish i had an Aussie friend right now.

Blahhhhh I found someone but as they were buying one it was fixed.

Had anyone here successfully bought the game on the cheap?

Sure, with their higher prices, censored or blocked games, and the upcoming extra tax on everything, I can understand why.
I think this is the first or second error for them this year.

Its now one of the better ones now though. Because failing currency. :P

It used to be one of the cheapest since the iintroduction of new currencies but with the falling Canadian Dollar most newer games end up being ramped up by 25-35% over the US price.. which is becoming very expensive and even more than what the exchange rate is.

yay! pay full price and get region lock, it's awesome... shoot-me
you know, the saddest part will be if they implement a region-cv system here where you would get your cv based on region prices.
so despite me paying full US prices to get SA-tagged gifts, i will get like 70% of the total cv. -_-

i understand but you are not alone ... euro have higher price than USA too . My country have not censored or blocked game but in germany isn't the same thing .I know you have a long list of censored game (we have regulary news about that ^^')

God, I am so angry, I am fuming furiously and almost foaming from my mouth and choking, and want to hurt myself so bad, WHY DID I MISS THIS DEAL.... I AM SOOOO ANGRY, beyond any reason I am just.. I can't.......... I would've bought 100 copies or 200 copies... oh my god.... I can't...

You wouldn't have had time. The deal lasted only an hour from the very first post on reddit and roughly 30 minutes after this SG thread first went up.
Each steam account is limited to 10 purchases per hour, sometimes less. At most, you would have gotten 20 copies, I think the most I saw any one person get was 8.

I would... you can buy in bulk. Not 1 by 1. I got a lot of other low steam accounts. I got friends. I can make account for free in terms of seconds. I got multiple ccs and dbs and paypals. I could easily get as many as I want in 30 minutes. 100-200 surely.
Besides why 30 minutes, it's quite obvious I am talking about getting on the deal from the get go, as soon as it got out. In 1 hour definitely 200 copies would be easy to get.

What? You've never been allowed to buy the same game in bulk. Only one at a time for the same game. You also get soft locked after buying several copies of one games. Just ask any major on demand trader (or someone who used to trade in Russian copies), they'll say the same thing.
The only way you could pull that off is if you used a ton of alts, at the same time, with payment processes all set up, with different payment methods for each account. If you get unlucky, you'll also waste quite a bit of time trying to make purchases on accounts that get locked earlier on. This also assumes that your ccs wouldn't lock the purchases after a certain amount of time. CC companies get incredibly paranoid nowadays and will lock the cc, pending verification, after a certain number of transactions that are the same amount. Plus of course, you would have needed to actually live in Australia, which according to your Steam account, you don't.
Frankly, I don't think I've ever seen someone willing to go through that much time/effort in setting things up on the off chance there's a major price error that coincides with then they're online and in the exact region that they live in. Even in regions that are more prone to them, like AU or NZ, they've still only had what, 2-3 major price errors this year? Not worth it.

It's only 69 cents right now. Hurry, it probably won't last long. Australia only it seems.
EDIT: Seems it's fixed now.
