Do you frequently make use of the "hide giveaways" button?

73,196 Titles You Marked As 'Ignored' (Steam)
I am pretty picky and have no reason to see games I don't think I will enjoy, often enough I see 0 giveaways.
Find it easier to just hide all games I don't care for to prevent clutter ^^

Impressive! I don't really use the ignore feature on the Steam store, but that's a solid number, Maruten. Good job!

At first I didn't either but my memory is so bad that you can show me the same thing multiple times in an hour and I act like I never saw it before! (not always but I have such moments) so I noticed I kept checking out the same games over and over and over again (basically until I found something in the text that I knew I saw before) and got so sick of that, that I decided to use the ignore button ^^

15590 and counting.
I used to enter only wishlist, but with all the trash that's getting released I stopped checking new steam releases, so more often than not my wishlist additions are coming from games seen here.
Now I just automatically hide everything under 5. It's usually DIG trash anyway and if I miss some gems in the process, so be it.

Thanks for all the gibs.
Only ~600 on my ignore list. My ancestors were farmers mostly so I blame them for the attraction I'm feeling for dung heaps. On the other hand I stumble across some decent games I wasn't aware of from time to time. I don't make much use of Steam's wishlist as I'm a heretic and no member of the Church of Valve. To keep track of my collection and wishlist I use gg.deals.

Only 2 titles from your train were not hidden (:
Thanks for the GAs 👌

I love it when there's a huge Steamgifts Community Train because I sometimes find a new one to hide!

I have a few over 600 on my filtered list on SG, don't use the ignored feature on Steam much aside from AAA games from genres I hate (no more seeing Battlefield 2042 at the top of every list woo). Most of what I filter is obvious asset flips and the Trivia series that seems unending. I don't filter under a certain point level because I've wishlisted a few items under 10pts, even if they seem like they would be short.

I am mostly just scrolling until something catches my eye and rarely bother to click the hide button unless I am really sure I don't want that one, ever (So I feel like I have to check reviews first and or it does obviously belong to genres I am really not interested in).It does happen more often though in the last months and I hit the 500 mark.
Thank you for the train!

6.7k in 2 years, one growing everyday.
I am the same way. I enter only for the games I am interested in.
Unlike some people recommend, I don't limit myself to just the wishlist page since SG is a great way to come across a lot of new games, specially indie title. I have wishlisted a lot of games that I first saw on SG.

I see it the same way.
But i replace the "a lot of" with "a few/multiple" :o)

17,855 in my 7 months here and still going. Feels like a never-ending battle.
Obviously, I've filtered all the cheap asset-flips/Hentai. There are certain categories that I filter wholesale like HOGs, match-3, dating sims, VR games. I also aggressively filter other genres that I have little to no interest in such as fighting games, JRPGs, RPGMaker, Anime, VNs, FPS and anything PvP-focused, but I'll make exceptions for very well-reviewed and unique games in those genres. Beyond that, it's on a case-by-case basis and becomes a more agonizing decision.

I am at a bit over 13,000 atm and the list keeps growing.
I always think that I am now finally finished but then another huge pile of new games appear on SG which I need to sort through.
It is a never ending battle

my methods have changed over my time here. i used to hide games that i knew i would absolutely never play, but that takes dedication. it's only sitting at 3,613 right now. so instead i switched to building up my steam wishlist and only browsing my wishlisted giveaways here on sg (and sometimes the recommended giveaways). given a list of games i want to play and games i don't, the want list is extremely shorter. i do still occasionally hide games that i see in trains or groups, and games i won that aren't auto-hidden yet. also, i take advantage of the giveaway filter feature on esgst to auto-hide poorly reviewed games among a few other parameters.

I have my games filtered to mac OSX only, so I have less to hide. There are a few genres I won't play, so I hide those. They did start making more and more trash available for mac, so I started hiding a lot more recently. Now stands at 1674.
If I do get a Windows machine, I suspect that I will have a lot of hiding to do. lmao.

I mostly hide giveaways for games and DLCs that I already have, but which are not detected correctly by SG because of various reasons. Winning giveaway of something I already have in my library would be very awkward.

Was it intentional that the train is exactly 1000p long? Very nice.
I've only hidden 3000-ish titles, but that's just because SteamGifts automatically hides anything that's windows-only for me. The way I figure it, that's approximately seven million titles I'll never see. :P

18.5k and counting, in about 4 years (out of the 6 I've been here), which kinda aligns with your stats.
Only 1.5k on Steam though (plus several hundreds from hidden publisher pages), since I just recently started.
Sadly, given the massive amounts of trash constantly put out by shady "developers", and the abismal amounts of fucks Valve gives about keeping its own store clean, that's not even an uphill battle, it's a one-sided slaughter.
I'm not even calling them "game-shaped objects" anymore, an object would at least have an use, no matter how limited (crap like this doesn't), and they're most definitely not even shaped like games, just concepts or tutorials at best.

30,005 to be exact, games and DLCs that I have hidden on Steamgifts.
I hide a lot of giveaways because I really only enter for games I'm going to play and probably enjoy.
I'm really not interested in a lot of genres on Steam, and I find myself hiding more and more games.
Hidden object? No thanks. Visual novel? Nah. Hentai tentacle milf puzzle? No for the 100th time, seriously stop already.
Anyway, as I said last time, people like me hiding games is a good thing for some of you that want to add to your ever-growing collection. It's good that Steamgifts gives everyone the choice to pick and choose what they like, and whether you're just entering giveaways for +1 to your library, or you've had it wishlisted for months, or you just can't resist another open-world early access survival crafting game... go for it. Enjoy the games, enjoy entering and giving away something, because there's always someone who will appreciate winning. The giveaways keep on flowing thanks to tens of thousands of awesome Steamgifts members.
For newcomers, or those who forgot, you can find how many games you have hidden here:

2016: I had hidden over 9000! games, which was cause for my first celebration of this kind.
2019: I hit 20,000 and figured it was a good reason for another celebratory giveaway discussion thread.
2022: Yay, 30,000 fewer games clogging up my front page!
2025: Can I make it to 40,000? Probably, considering how many games are released each month.
So I guess you were hoping there might be some AAA giveaways in here? Sorry to disappoint. It really wouldn't be fitting, would it?
But if you're looking for some hot trash, I've got your covered! (Just kidding, there's some good ones in here too, some of which I own already)
All aboard...
