Been playing Borderlands 2 with friends. Game is well received, quite fun and has been out for a long time. So, out of curiosity, to those people who have yet not played it. What is the reason?

I do have it. And i also would really love to play it. Tales From The Borderlands gave me the hype to play all borderlands games. The problem is only my laptop's memory capacity

Tales is vastly different though. The main series is anything but story-oriented, it's a pure looter with some wacky world to put the whole thing in. The only game that puts some focus on the story is the pre-Sequel, and it is often panned for its subpar looter mechanics.

I know i know. i forgot to mention that i played the first Borderlands, then went straight up to Tales, i've seen the differences between the game. And Tales gave me the hype to play the second borderlands and tps.

Well, Tales is probably the only TellTale game that relies way too much on the audience knowing the source material. Not only small references, but most of the main plot is based around the story events of BL2 and TPS, so if nothing else, you will learn a lot related to Tales there.

I like FPS like Battlefield and Mass Effect but not like Borderlands.

I mean, i do not want to shoot monsters or ugly zombie-style enemies like the ones you see in Borderlands.

Mass Effect is TPS.
There aren't any zombies in Borderlands, not in the main game at least. There is one Halloween DLC with zombies, and that's it. The main enemies are bandits, corporate thugs, and lots of deadly critters.

Played through the first one with all the dlc but it somehow wore me off in the end. I think i will wait a year or so before playing the second one. The same with van helsing. Good games but just for a while.

Been watching streams on it almost on a daily basis for two years now to know it's not a game I ever want to play. Never liked looters, plus FPS is not my genre. I'll play Tales though when I get around it.

Did you try to modify the field of view on them? It can help a lot of people with FPS motion sickness.

Yep i tried after Half Life 2 most of the games i have the same problem and Half Life 2 was the worst. But CS GO and Portal 2 i can play for longer times i don't know why.

That is rather strange considering they use the exact same graphical engine. And I cannot even say that maybe because of the level design, because Portal has both very small, narrow levels and large open ones.

Yeah that's interesting both has same engine but maybe i was paying less attention to Portal or moving less idk. :/

Hmm, just curious, but did you ever find a solution with Half-Life 2? I couldn't finish that game, had the same problem. :( Gave up at a part with a hovercraft, just couldn't keep playing. :(

I tried to play Half Life 2 maybe around 10 years ago so i don't think i can give you any tip. But for newer games i tried some things like depth of field metioned above but it didn't work for me so i gave up and don't play FPS at all. (Besides a few matches on CS GO with my friends once a while.)

Most overrated series can be a broad term. Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto and the entire Blizzard portfolio could be considered the most overrated series from certain viewpoints.
Plus I don't think BL is that popular, it just still exists even when other game series release a new instalment every year, so people just migrate there. But I wouldn't be surprised if more people played CS:GO on PC alone than the entire BL trilogy on all platforms put together.

Imo Fallout is more overrated. While claptrap can be annoying thats pretty much his job. Although I respect your opinion i just don't share the same one.

Hmmmm, think I played through Borderlands 2, but it was mostly single-player so I missed all the good bits... :) I think this sort of game can be a lot of fun, but eventually the endless repetition kills it. :)

I'm fighting these enemies to get slightly better equipment, so I can fight these slightly stronger enemies, so I can get slightly better equipment, so I can fight these slightly stronger enemies, so I can get slightly better equipment, so I can... :)

I thought the Tiny Tina story part wasn't bad, though. :)

Oh, and when I saw a big discount on the Pre-Sequel I couldn't resist, completely forgetting how I was all Borderlanded out... :) Started playing and oh, wait a minute, this is just like Borderlands... Sigh... :)

It is the basic RPG mechanics. Loot plus ever slightly increasing powering. I understand that if that does not rock the boat, the game becomes quite tedious fast.

Because it sucks! Its storyline is a joke and its missions are also a joke. That's why. :B

Because I haven't had time to play Borderlands 1. Too many games, too less time.. The common problem :/

If you intend to play the series, I would recommend just skipping the first one. It's very repetitive.

Wouldn't I miss parts of the story then? And also the 3rd title takes place between BL 1 and 2, so I really feel like I'd miss out on something :O

Yes, but there is not a whole lot of story in Borderlands 1, in particular not if you compare it to the amount of "filler" (going back & forth on the same road, killing the same (respawned) enemies). Borderlands 2 even makes fun of how crap the story was in Borderlands 1 (which is a joke that you won't get unless you've played the first game, but I don't personally think it's worth it just for that bit). The only part of BL1 that I would even consider replaying is the "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx" DLC, which is quite good

I started the game twice, first I went through maybe a third of a game and got so bored I couldn't play it anymore. Then few months later, I made a new character, went half way through and it became so boring that I just couldn't continue. Lets hope that third time is a charm.

I played it a lot, but I really don't like that some things in the game have to be done with friends.
I mean, game with friends is GREAT.. but unfortunately i don't have no one to play this game with (i don't have so much time to stay online and reach friends).. so I wont never the chance to achieve 100% in the game :(

I hate games that requires coop to reach 100%. :(

Got bored of Borderlands 1, since it's just rinse and repeat. Maybe BL2 is better, but I don't want to risk it.
