I want to try one survival game on 3D. All looks good, but I don't see what one can be better for me.

I already played survival games on 2D and 2.5D like Neo Scavenger or Project Zomboid and I love it to death. So I want to try one on 3D. From the 4 I put on the poll, the ones who call me more attetion are Rust and Reign of Kings, but the other two does not look bad.

Any survival player here who can tell me wich one is better in general and why?

Thanks <3

The Long Dark(best survival experience IMO, all alone in the snow, facing the mother nature) or Don't Starve(a lot of funny things to do, cool characters and monsters. A lot of things to keep you busy)

Love that comparison. Thanks for the advice, I will arm my soul with patience then.
Sounds like a "Battle Royale" game. I don't know why nobody do a game about that.

There are (atleast for Rust) PvE-servers, if you go in the regular servers, prepare for the worst, I got 80 hours on Rust, only regular servers I played on, I played on with 3-4 friends, then it is a little more fun IMO ;)

The time I played Rust was long ago, I think they might have changed quite a bit by now. But I don't really feel like I need to play it now, in 80 hours I did everything there was to do (10 times).

This War of Mine. It will bring tears to your eyes.

Edit - Just saw the 3D, idk every one I have thought of trying seems to be filled with Griefing and a waste of cash. I have yet to dive into Don't Starve but that looks fun.

I personally wouldn't recommend either of them, they are all quite far from being finished and each of them has its unique set of flaws. So yeah, 3D survival games are a great concept, but the current candidates are not finished products so I recommend staying away from them. Just play the DayZ mod since you have both Arma II and Operation Arrowhead, you won't have to buy anything and the mod is a lot more polished than the standalone in its current state.

Sad to read that. Maybe I have too star like I am and wait for better or finished games then.
I need to think about. Probably gonna play the DayZ mod while I wait.

I'm already bored of Minecraft. Got it on Alpha and played a lot. For my taste, don't like some of the changes they made.

I have heard RoK is good.. but as the makers are Code}{atch I'm very, very cautious.. there last game ripped a LOT of people off being abandoned and sold and complete. 7 Days To Die is also a fun survival/crafting/building game.

Didn't know that. Thanks for the info. RoK deleted of my list, that kind of developers don't derserve my money.

Yep, too bad you missed the PCgamer giveaway of it. It was really easy to get a key (got mine from there). If you want something medieval i suggest Life is Feudal. If you want zombies and guns, i suggest DayZ (Rust is just... all i've watched of it has scared me even more than what i've seen people do in DayZ). Just saying there are some fucked up people playing those games. Like seriously, the actually take you hostage, make you drink stuff or fight to death with someone and then shoot you, force feed you, etc. If you buy one of those look for a server with a good community, unless you want to be scarred for the rest of your life. :D

Also consider that H1Z1 will be Free 2 play when released. So if you have even slightly more interest in the medieval go with it and wait for H1Z1 when it's released (probably sometime next year).

I don't missed that giveaway, and was not "really easy" to get a Key. The % was freaking low.
I think I gonna go for Rust at the moment, and pray for another giveaway of the Life is Feudal and more luck.

Personally I would say Rust, because dev team are very clear with their intentions and make weekly updates with lots of content. I trust these guys. Better with friends.

Yeah, I'd go with Rust for sure, unless you don't like playing with other people that is. Honestly the only big issue they still have left is performance, but if you have a gaming computer you should be fine. In fact they made some major performance improvements in the last two updates. Oh, and the weekly updates are great.

Check out Darkwood (not multiplayer)
It is a bird's-eye view game. The world is random-generated. Crafting is included.(basic survival-game specifications are all in)
But you gotta watch some trailers-gameplays to understand why I recommend it.

p.s.: Last time I checked it was still in development (early access). (I'm planning to continue playing at summer)

Haven't seen it mentioned, but I've enjoyed 7 Days to Die. It's like Minecraft (but much better looking) mixed with zombie survival. Endgame can get a little stale when not much is a real threat anymore.

Why don't you check H1Z1? it will be f2p when it is released, but still...

I really wouldn't recommend H1Z1 to anyone, it's not even close to release and it's already showing signs of becoming pay to win. Also, Battle Royales are pretty much the only fun thing about it and when the game comes out of early access those will require tickets to enter, meaning that you'll have to pay for them. Also, the non-Battle Royale environments are filled with cheaters.
