I like how they didn't ask the kid what he was doing with the weapons, they just went to the father who immediately tried to think up a random game that had killing in it. It doesn't appear to say anything about punishment for the parents leaving a firearm and ammo accessible to their child, even if it wasn't loaded.

When I was 7 years old on the first day of my shcool, I actually challenged a kid in my class to a fight. I just meet him randomly during recess and without saying anything I just low kick him few times hoping that he will fall like in Street Fighter. He was a big tall kid. He was like: WTF dude, are you crazy or something. In return to my kicks he gave one good punch on my stomach and just walk away.

Wow.. soo bad. Funny thing is they base the idea that the kid "learned it from a video game" due to what the father said. The one who's gun was taken from..

"The boy's father said he was playing a character he learned from a video game." That is all that was said. Not that it was minecraft or any other game specifically. That is the "journalist" for the report taking some liberty with the writing.

What I find to be really odd is the fact that the father can say that and get off the hook. The gun came from him. That is reckless endangerment at the very least for the father if the kid hurt anyone. ( As is I feel he should be charged regardless. People as stupid as the father in this story should not have access to guns if they do not bother to properly keep his under control. )

He owns guns, and has a kid. He should know better not to have the gun in a place the kid can not get to. ( IE under lock and key, in a place the kid can not reach, besides that there are also lock mechanisms that are designed to prevent someone from firing the gun. No I am not just talking about the "safety" that a lot of guns have. There are separate locks that requires a key. )
