Not allowed. Either he gives you a proper Steam gift/key of Napoleon Total War, or you report him.

Hmm I'll ask him to provide me with the game on my account (or at least any game I don't have yet that he might be able to gift, I don't want to make a fuss).. if he does not agree to that I will report him... ofcourse, that doesn't give me my gift :( But thanks for the replies..

Your first option was a good one (give you the correct game). The second one you suggested can get YOU in trouble later if you don't have this particular game activated on your account since you just got a replacement one of a different kind.

Attempting to give away game accounts are not allowed no matter the circumstances. You should make a support ticket and provide support a screenshot of the e-mail he sent you.

Wait 7 days. Mark as not recieve and write to support.

I got his main steam account.. I told him he has 7days to give me the game on my steam account. If not I will report. Don't have high hopes that he will actually buy the game just to gift though..

And that concludes our chat... sigh..

I assume if you were to suck his dick, then try again, you'd probably get nothing back. Don't fall for the dick trap! :P

It's not hard to find. I used Google to find the deleted giveaway for Napoleon: Total War that ended yesterday in which the creator is suspended. It took me about 30 seconds to find the offender's Steam account so that I don't accidentally get into a trade or have any dealings with that person.

People sell steam accounts with any games for cheap prices. That's probably why this guy was giving an account instead of a gift. He probably found this account for $0.30 (unless he cracked/stole it himself)
But no it's not allowed, so you should report the giveaway and request a gift from him, or else mark unreceived.

Pretty lame, he'll get suspended though.
Can we call this "The Ikea Maneuver"?

Hey
I won a gift "Napoleon Total War" (woohoo), that was until I read my email.. he seems to not have the game as gift but he gave me the login to a steam account containing just this game..
I don't want a "second" steam account :( (besides all information and email and whatnot are not mine on that).. so I take I can just forget about my game ? Steam will never allow me to transfer the game to my steam account... I take there is nothing I can do ? (except maybe report the person but that doesn't help me)
