that would certainly help me make my decision to not give it away on steamgifts. I'm hurt that anyone thinks I would redeem it for a $1 item on a game I don't even play but then again you guys don't know me.

I think he is saying he has the game with out the ripper(DLC if bought is $1) So if he uses the code...he would only get an $1 DLC out of it. (well thats what I got from it)

It's 'A few thousand' being given away. It's probably first-come, first-served with whoever clicking the claim button. One of the previous ones had the keys all gone in five minutes, so that's something to put into thought if you want one. :P

I think that the keys will be US only so region locked. is it really worth to get one? I thought these kind of keys are forbidden to give away here on SG. I'm also a bit concerned about their software if it's safe or not and if it can screw up my PC if I use it. Any thoughts?

No they're not, if they were region locked they would have stated it in the guide.
They're not some little new born company, it's Raptr, so yeah, the client is as safe as steam it self! and yeah, region locked keys are forbidden SG, but nobody is giving away Raptr keys just yet, so why do you assume something like this?! lol
