Has anyone else had their Steam extensions or addons disabled?

Are you using Chrome? It might be related to manifest V2 being deprecated, meaning some extensions will not work anymore.

Oh ok thanks! I didn't know that. I thought it was because of the tampermonkey update.

Anyway, I've seen that there's one like "Steam Web Integration" in Chrome extensions https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/steam-web-integration/bcjlaaocogjkkhbmjhlhonmpnngnlogn

but I haven't seen one similar to "Extended Steamgifts" (https://github.com/nandee95/Extended_Steamgifts/blob/master/Extended_Steamgifts.user.js)

Ok, I found a solution to everything to make it work like before without touching (almost) anything.
You have to go to chrome extensions and activate "developer mode" https://www.tampermonkey.net/faq.php#Q209

Keep in mind I believe this fix is temporary in nature. Google has been clear with Manifest V2 about where they want to take their browser in terms of add-ons. I switched to Firefox a few months ago, it's worth considering a transition before you really need it.

I do miss one extension or two that I had on Chrome and that don't exist in Firefox, but overall it's been quite seamless overall.

The world really is upside down. People are switching back to Firefox to get away from Chrome! That's the exact opposite of what people were doing 10 years ago basically xD

I was kinda hoping Opera would hold the Manifest V2 line but apparently they will not and I'll eat my shirt and pants with no ketchup before I make Edge my default browser so i guess I'll switch back to Firefox for now too

I need to look into it more. The only thing I know about it was about the CEO being sketchy and some of the early investors being involved into politics but if the browser is good, why not

Hahahaha I hear you. Google has been dropping the ball so much over the last few years. I switched away from Google Search a while back, bounced between Ecosia and Duckduckgo before finally settling into Startpage.

Chrome was a hard switch so I ended up going for Firefox since they are pretty familiar. I also tried Opera and Brave but both had very different "feels" vs. Chrome or Firefox, which are quite similar to me.

I'm even considering switching away from the Pixel phone line-up: less because of issues with Google or the system, but more because they are unable to create a phone with a small form-factor, which is the single most important aspect on a phone for me. Gone are the days where I'd blindly trust anything and everything from Google.

I'm forced to use Edge for work and while I would not use it on my personal computer, it's solid. Way more than IE was back it's alternatives back in the day.

Tell me about it! I also did the Ecosia-DuckDuckGo ping pong but Ecosia gives me pretty crap results and DDG... uses Bing so results also suck. Never heard about Startpage. I may give it a go and keep Ecosia on my phone for its green efforts.

Edge definitely isn't as bad as IE was. It's just not very customizable, as you would pretty much expect from a company who is forcing you to keep their products on your computer whether you use it or not.

I've been using Opera for a while now, and though I wouldn't call it my ideal browser, I'm happy with it for now. This article also seems to indicate that they will continue to support Manifest v2 indefinitely:

Music to my ears... eyes?
It's not perfect but I've been using it on my phone as a "more better" version of Chrome since it runs on Chromium and most extensions are available and it includes an adblocker which let's be honest, Chrome would never do (since they now do their best effort to make ad blockers irrelevant).
I wasn't sure how they'd go with Manifest v2 and I hadn't seen anything about it, which didn't seem like good news but I guess I should have gone to the source to find out.
