It is a nice game and in Europe you can buy it for 9€.

But you can buy it on http://www.ftlgame.com/ for 9$ with Steamkey and DRM-Free. You can add this game to your Humble Bundle Account too :)

So everyone who likes to buy this game should take this way :)

Face it, in most countries, the worst thing that can happen to pirates is eternity in hell or whatever their religion's equivalent of hell is. If they're atheist, welp, not even one consequence. It's a pretty guilt-free thing, obviously people will do it.

Everything has consequences. TINSTAAFL.

What if the developer can't afford to keep making games? You the pirate won't ever find out what you missed, but that might have been one hell of a game that never got made.

Want to bet? If I win, you'll never pirate game, ever. If you die, I'll buy you all games you will want.

Your prize will be to collect right after cremation I'll personally inspect, after decapitation and staking your heart (can't have you coming back as sparkly vampire or hungry zombie, right?).

Then play some free-to-play or modifications. i.e. you can try Black Mesa Source right now. It's free and damn good, better than many AAA games for money.

I agree with the Black Mesa part!

I love ThePiraBay, it gives me the chance to see if a games is worth buying or not!

Especially AAA games who turn out to be crappy!

And I get that. I was dead-ass broke once, and have only recently gotten up to mostly-broke.

Even so, I feel like it's in poor taste to relish the matter.

DRM-free means Digital rights management free, aka you can download it as much as you want and share it as much as you want if you want to.
Steam is a sort of DRM, origin aswell.

@sharing as much as you want: Well no, sharing it is still as illegal as with any other copyrighted content.
It just means that it does not try to prevent you from becoming a criminal by means of methods that would inconvenience the rightful users.

DRM-Free is program which developers hasn't put any limits to run. Like activations, copy-protections, rootkits, internet-connection requirements and so on. You can freely make a copy on installer file and it will work on supported system for ever.

It means you can download the game from there and install it as often you like. No copyprotection.
And for EU-people it is a bit cheaper.

Yes, even with optional 'little' tip it was cheaper than on Steam (including 10% discount). Sad it is true for nearly all games.

Piece of advice: Do NOT kill all the crew on the last boss ship. It does not equal victory and makes it harder as all systems start to repair themselves.

I love your picture/icon!

Also, great great game! I love the music for it too :) It is well worth the money I think, I'm glad I picked it up now rather than waited for a sale.

The combat is awesome... it can get so damn intense too! And when you die, you want to start over rather than get frustrated (like Dungeons of Dredmore). I have had fun trying to survive with a single crew member!

I had lots of fun so far. It was great when I realized that you could use the ion cannons to continually take out weapons and O2 systems. Then just sitting back.

I found you got more resources when the ship was intact. Evil but fun.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

oooh! I hadn't thought of that. I was wondering if it would be better to use the ion cannon and take the ship out that way.. but then I wondered if it would count if the crew was dead but the ship intact.. I'm definitely going to give this a try next run! :D

I am kind of scared seeing the boss of all these tough ships and on my first game. No pressure with the imminent destruction of my only friends.
