Imagine this: there's an awesome giveaway ending in 2 days for 40 points. You only have 35 points. You'll probably have enough points before the giveaway is over, but you're leaving in 5 minutes and you won't be able to access internet because you're camping/hiking/underwater till the end of the week. So you're gonna miss it and hate yourself forever.

Solution: you can join as many giveaways as you want. If you have enough points when the giveway is concluded, you'll have your chance to win. If you don't have enough points, you'll be disqualified.

In order not to mess up the "entries" statistics, you will only be counted when you actually have enough points to qualify for the giveaway.

Soo.. Is this an awesome idea, or is it the worst rubbish ever?:-)

In b4 post about 9000 entries to a giveaway.

I think the problem here is that if anyone can enter without having the necessary points, people will spam every giveaway with entries. Then we'll have over 9000 users complaining that they didn't receive the game cause they didn't have enough points. In a sense, it makes things more complicated for new users.

What if members enter every giveaway in this way? Will we be fucked that there's shit loads of entries?

If the user lose all his points to the first couple of entries he enters, he won't win the later ones due to the lack of points.

I still find this unnecessary and overly complicated for everyone involved. Just no, terrible idea that will fool a lot of people and only fuck everything up.

If I don't have the points for a game I really want to win, I remove some from games I don't like as much. You don't have to enter everything, just the ones you really want.

How would it decide a priority though?

Simply. The giveaway that ends first has priority over the giveaway that ends later.

but giveaways can only end at a predetermined recurring point every five minutes. there could be a couple of entered giveaways ending the same instant.

a possible solution could be to be able to enter only one giveaway on "credit", preventing you from entering any further giveaways until you earned enough points to officially enter said giveaway. That would enable you to enter a 50p giveaway if you only have 47p without having to wait till you have the proper amount of points, in case you need to go somewhere before the points could be gathered.

I like this.

Even simpler: Not instituting a change like this, and just "dealing with it" when you are simply unable to enter for a chance at a freebie game, due to "real life circumstances." Priorities - DO YOU SPEAK IT?

What if you join multiple giveaways when not having enough points? How does SG determine which to spend the points on?

If you want to join a giveaway that you don't have enough points for to join, just remove yourself from other giveaways till you have enough points. Problem solved.

If you're underwater till the end of the week you have other problems.
Really shouldn't have accepted that credit from that fat, italian, suit wearing dude.

that would mean that you could enter ALL THE THINGS

It would be like handing out infinite points because you could enter everything on 300 points... then when some giveaways start to close you would get negative points.

This is why the economy is fucked. Not because of the bankers and the politicians but because of people using their credit cards the same way as you describe. INFINITE MONEY until you get to a point so low there is no way of repaying it back.

So no

This will not work.

Rationing your points is all part of the "game". Giving people the equivalent of an "IOU" option just doesn't seem sporting.

I know what your thinking, its a pain when you dont have enough points but there is this really cool game you want and in a few hours before the giveaway is over you would have the points. It would solve that problem, however, it would confuse every noobie on the planet. It would work against you as much as it hurts you too, becuase what if you ended up not having enough points by the time that giveaway was up. then you didn't get in on the raffle you wanted more. America has a debt problem of spending money they don't have. Lets not give them a credit towards points.

Also there is already a solution to this. click manage > entries> remove entry. you can get plenty of points that way :)
