From the FAQ already linked above ^^
What are levels, and how can I increase my level?
Levels range from 0-10, with level 0 being the default after registration, and level 10 being the highest level attainable. Levels represent a user's contributions to the community. At their core, they are calculated based on a user's contributor value. When a user creates a giveaway that's received by the winner, their contributor value and level increases. This allows the user to access additional giveaways that are restricted to higher levels. If you mouseover your level in the navigation bar, or the level on your user profile, you'll see a tooltip with the level rounded to 2 decimal places. This will give you a better idea of small increments in level, and when you're about to level up.
.
Levels increase in difficulty almost exponentially. Below is a summary of levels and their corresponding contributor values.
.
Level 0: $0.00
Level 1: $0.01 - $25
Level 2: $25 - $50
Level 3: $50 - $100
Level 4: $100 - $250
Level 5: $250 - $500
Level 6: $500 - $1,000
Level 7: $1,000 - $2,000
Level 8: $2,000 - $3,000
Level 9: $3,000 - $5,000
Level 10: $5,000+

A new user should also read about reduced and no value games.

It is a type of sail. Officially, it is ”a triangular staysail set forward of the forwardmost mast.” On a sailing ship, the jibsails are the ”vertical”, triangular sails going forward from the front mast over the bowsprit.
Also, ”In the 17th century the shape of the jib sail often identified a vessel's nationality, and hence whether it was hostile or friendly.”

No problem at all. :D To be quite honest most of it was a direct copy/paste from google's results.
Ah, I see. No apology needed! I never watched them, so it went over my head. Sorry about that. :)
Um, I have no clue (but I have certainly wondered that myself :D). I know the scuppers were the gutters and the toilets, but where those were located I'm not sure. I do know that the cooking was done at the very front of ships so that the smoke would blow in in the wind clear of the deck in front of them, rather than blowing the whole length of the ship.

First you have to go outside the village and kill the chickens.
Go back to the town square and talk to the old man to level up to 1.
Now you can buy some stuff and journey to the near woods. Fighting the stuff there should get you to level 3.
From there on it is an open world.

Only 6 year old n00s need the rat cellar.
Plus, if you skip the rats in the beginning, you can come back after level 15 and will have chaotic rat spawn all over town. It is quite hard but gives a shitload of XP - similar to Diablo's Cow Level.

and will have chaotic rat spawn all over town.
...what happens if you spawn the rat swarm and then just, like, leave the town for a while?
Do they eat the villagers, take the town over, calm down, start establishing constructive patterns of interaction, and eventually replace the villagers, forming a tranquil rat village?
I'm just saying, maybe they got tired of always being treated as something to be disposed of by newbie adventurers, and then got murdered off before they could find peace for themselves. What if the true villain of this story was you all along?

Never tried that. Might wait and see on my next playthrough.

I'm just imagining you sitting casually in the center of a burning village, surrounded by a black sea of rats all trying and failing to break through your defenses, calmly snacking on questionable meat snacks and waiting to see if the rats can be won over. But then, undoubtedly you'll all-too-quickly lose patience and start madly swinging your sword around in circles at the rats because that's what chicken-haters always seem to do.

I think Din's Curse features some kind of evolution of enemy behaviour, if you leave them alone for too long.

This reminds me of an old MMO I used to play called Tibia. I loved this game more than any other game growing up. This dumb looking 2D MMO.
Anyways, at some point they introduced these outfits for your character, where you could grind killing specific creatures that would drop animal items you could trade in for pieces of this outfit. A "chicken feather" was one of the items required for a piece of an outfit that I forget the name of now, but these chicken feathers would sell for a good bit on the market. Not many people wanted to grind killing chickens for hours on end for a cosmetic item.
Let me tell you how many hours I sunk into running around in circles killing chickens for chicken feathers to sell. I could retire off that money if I was working a minimum wage job instead. :D
So nostalgic.

Basically, you buy games that can be activated on Steam and have never been given away for free any time in the past and give them away here. You gain levels based on the value of the games you give away. It is a bit more complicated than that, but you can find everything explained in the FAQ. You may also want to read the Guidelines.
Welcome to SG :)
