I decided that I am going to go through all my games and stream them on twitch, write a review, and then create a youtube review.
This is my first written review (YouTube review will be later) and it's just kind of for practice, I know it's a little rough but I thought I'd take some constructive criticism or even pure main-lined criticism, whatever you want.

The review is for This War of Mine, you can find the review here:

EDIT: Thank you everyone for your input, I belive I have what I need!

lol, but you could have done it, I said that I accept pure main-lined criticism. Plus, I have a high enough self-image that I would refuse to believe I could write anything that would merit a 0/5.

I liked it though. Lots of good info done like you're taking advice from a friend. Nice touch :)

I'll go ahead and bump this thread since you are lacking comments!

I rated it a 4, mostly because I loved the way you organized it. It was easy on the eyes and a great review :)

It was good, perhaps a bit on the long side for a Steam review considering what the average Steam review reader seems to be interested in. Maybe add some tl;dr introduction for the people with shorter attention spans (the people who don't expand the review).

What I would like to see in a video review: When you're doing the video review, make sure to edit together several different segments of gameplay, and making the gameplay seen on screen reflect what you're talking about (if you're talking about scavenging, show gameplay of it, etc). Record the gameplay and revivew text/voice over at different times. In my opinion that's a much better way to do a video review than the ones showing someone starting the game and talking about it while playing.

Good Idea, I'll be sure to have the gameplay reflect what I'm talking about.

In my opinion its more of a description than a review. For example you explain in detail what the Gameplay involves but you spend little time on describing which of these are enjoyable to you. Maybe some of it gets repetetive for example (havent played the Game myself). At least that was my impression. Its pretty detailed though.

I liked your review.

I enjoyed the breakdown -- when I'm looking at games I'm not familiar with, those are exactly the main things I want to see.

I will agree with Baxinger. To be more review-like, add some of the things that you think are pluses and minuses. Just because a game has, say, scavenging or items, doesn't mean those items are well implemented. So it might be good to include a couple of lines on why you thought that implementation was good/bad/mediocre, as the case may be.

Also, I'm totally more likely to read a written review of a game than watch a video one, and I know it's the opposite for some people, so I think it's great that you want to do both.
