Hi guys!

So, I'm broke as hell thanks to being unemployed, (Go Mississippi!)so I won't be participating in this sale. I did look through all the games on sale this go 'round and they had some really good ones.

If I had the money, however, I'd get these games:

Deadlight

Kentucky Route Zero (Has anyone played this yet? This game looks amazing!)

No Time to Explain

Proteus

BIT.TRIP Presents Runner 2

Legend of Grimrock

Bientot lete

Shad'O

Afterfall Insanity

Regardless of if you're like me and this is a wish list (emphasize wish) or if you actually are doling out the cash, what games do you want?

Indeed it does. I tried a demo and it is like a cross between Dead Space and Fallout. Unfortunately, the last two times it has gone on sale, I've been paying a massive bill I was putting off during Christmas sales, and I'm now stuck paying it if I want to keep services.

That sucks. And now that would be a worry if you purchased the game. :(

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The game is great, I bought it last sale.

There are only two concerns I have. The playable character has an absolutely terrible voice actor, he sounds so incredibly boring compared with the other voice actors (which is a shame because he says more than them).

The attack animations are a bit ropey. I didn't get the smooth and life like animations I was hoping for.

These are just minor concerns though. I'm still in the process of playing the game and atmosphere wise, it's incredible. Even the concept is neat.

Good to hear from someone who has played the release version. Neither really bothered me in the demo. Hopefully I can pick it up the next time it gets a sale.

Probably a good thing, I could see you eying Fortix 2.

And a few dozen other games.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Somehow I think I'm not going to get out of this sale with just three games. Fortix 2 is fun though. I just hope you're not a major completionist, because perfect on all levels in impossible difficulty is not likely to be an easy one.

And I still haven't figured out how to even get some of the achievements.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The only thing I want to complete is my games library. :P

I've only gotten 100% is less than 100 games over the last 20 or so years.

Permalink

Sadly, achievements have turned me into a completionist. Can't stand having them incomplete. In games without them I'm more likely to skip stuff.

I really hope to see Jade Empire on sale.

I was going to get it during the Winter sale, but it didn't get a discount.

Other than that I hope there's a game or DLC I want on sale for around $1.

I have never seen that game before, but it looks completely awesome! The graphics are really pretty. Fingers crossed it goes on sale for you!

Since I'm bored and have nothing better to do for the moment, I went snooping around the see what games there were for a dollar. This is what I came up with (that looked interesting to me, at least):

Puzzle Demension, Blocks That Matter, Fowl Space.

Slightly over $1 (up to $2, what can I say? I'm a big spender!)

Home (Kinda trippy. Not very long but it was fun to me), The Binding of Isaac (hours of fun!), The Graveyard, Adventures of Shuggy, Plain Sight, CreaVures, Samorost2, The Dream Machine Chapters 1 & 2 (the first thing on Steam I ever recommended), The Journey Down (I want!!).

There is about 9 1/2 pages of things under $2.00, full games and DLC alike. Good luck finding something you like!

I was thinking about getting Super Hexagon or Insecticide.

That's not the best price for Insecticide though,
and I feel like I'll get tired of Super Hexagon rather quickly.

Jade Empire was a great, immersive RPG from the glory days of Bioware. The combat was 'okay', but the strong point of the game was the storytelling, voice acting, characters, setting, and choices which affect your alignment.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Isn't this sale just focused on indie titles? Jade Empire won't go on sale during an indie event.

Summer sale isn't that far off.

I didn't even realize the current sale was being referred to as a Spring sale.

I was thinking of the next big seasonal sale.

Wouldn't mind getting No Time To Explain and MAYBE FTL (to see what the hype's about, if nothing else), but I fall in to that no cash camp also.

Permalink

If I ever got FTL, it would also be to see what the hype is all about. People go nuts over that game!

Might pick up No Time to Explain. FTL is fantastic, played more of that than nearly any other game this year.

I really want Giana Sisters and Trine 2, also I thinking of buying deadlight but I read that it has many bugs and bad controls.

Kentucky Route Zero is garbage in my book. Releasing a chapter then selling it for FULL price is just absurd. What if they go bankrupt? Steam won't return your money and they'll wash their hands.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

What absurd?, this is like the walking dead but instead, they called it season pass.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Absurd, because we can only play ONE chapter instead of FIVE. That's my main point.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

So, how does this differ with walking dead?

A risk I'd be willing to take, if I had the money. It looks beautiful, so I hope it does well.

It really is beautiful, and probably my favorite take on dialogue choices in a game thus far (even more than Walking Dead).

Oooh, gotta add Thirty Flights of Loving to my list. That is an awesome looking game.

Permalink

It's a short game, I think it's about 5-7 minutes, but I heard it's worth the price. It's more cinematic experience than a game.

Some really awesome games are short, so that isn't an issue to me.

The premise of the game alone seems completely awesome. I have friends that have spent tons and tons of time on it. That's why it was first on my list, lol. (But after the first 2 games, it's all a random mix)

Agreed just watching a trailer for it it seems great. I find these "simpler" games can be some of the best. FTL for example, amazing, binding of isaac also great.

Shad'O is another game that looks freaking awesome.

Heard it had some weird translations at times (it's made in France, iirc?), and watched a Total Biscuit WTF on it. It has a lot going for it in terms of atmosphere, music, and it's tower defense, if you like that. It doesn't seem to reinvent any wheels, but puts the tower defense in a nice atmosphere.

Hydrophobia is a good choice.

It's really short, but a good bit of fun.

The story is unfinished though, and a sequel ain't gonna happen.

Except for Alice. I personally didn't like it. The story was decent enough, if you can get past the god awful controls.

Never had any issues with the controls, what exactly was bad about it? It was quite a bit too long for my taste though (yes, yes, that's what she said), but the environments were pretty gorgeous.

I have a bit of paypal credit, so I may find a way to get some wallet. Now, deciding what games to get... that's going to be quite tricky :P

Well, I'll probably get GMod, and see what all the fuss is about (provided my laptop can run it, of course). Other things I'm seeing cheap on my wishlist include Shank, Thirty Flights of Loving (I loved Gravity Bone, but I'm a bit worried about spending $2.49 for a fifteen minute game), Audiosurf, AAAAAAAAAaablahblahblah for the Awesome, and so much more. I'm so indecisive!
