Hello,

I recently made a trade for Tomb Raider, when I activated it, it was listed as "Tomb Raider Press Review" can someone confirm for me that this is the full retail version and it won't be removed from my account at a later date?

Does anyone know anything about them, he said he got it from SE as he is a Admin on their forums.

Almost sounds like a key they'd give to a company, say IGN, so that they could do a review. Whether it would be a permanent key or temp I wouldn't know.
(Pure guessing btw)

My guess (and this is only a guess) is that it's the full version, just able to be downloaded before release date.

I would guess (and hope) this, too. Unless it's an early version for review that doesn't have all the bugs and kinks worked out.

Damn it, I have not done my end of the trade yet, but this is really bugging me out. I am worried it will be removed from my account in the future or something.

If he's the admin of Square Enix forums tell him to show some proof of it.

He gave me a link to his profile but you need to sign up to view it.

He said he will contact the admin who sent the keys and send me a screenshot of it, I asked him to ask the admin who gave him it to confirm it is permanent before I give my game.

Does that seem fair?

Yeah make sure it works first before completing the trade. And is the person's steamtrades account reputable?

Only one trade. The key activated just fine, it is just the "Press Review" that has thrown me. I guess I will have to wait for him to reply with the admining confirming that it is permanent.

He said the screenshot will be in Spanish, so another hurtle.

I agree, it is the reason I am posting here.

I have 35 positive feedback on Steamtrades, I don't want to lose that, but I am so worried this key is going to be removed in the future.

perfectly fair - I would ask not just permanent but COMPLETE
don't developers give abridged or limited versions (more complete than a demo but not the complete game) for reviews..?

sorry, just not sure but I don't blame you for being wary

just for kicks I went to the SE site and sent an inquiry to their support (long shot but maybe I'll get an answer)
I asked them what a press review version is and how to obtain one and if there are limitations, specifically if it is identical to the full retail version and if it will cease to function after a period of time.

If I get an answer I will let you know

He sent me this, I have no way to confirm that person is anyone of any sort of knowledge from SE.

It's not much to go on, unfortunately, but the fact that his friend got the info from another forum that the key would be permanent.

Considering the game officially unlock in about an hour, maybe you can see for yourself by then and complete the trade.

Yeah, in the end I have given him his games. The game works and I have his email to contact him if anything happens. Hopefully everything stays fine.

apparently the press review part is so that it will activate before the release date - if I'm following that right

These are just special keys for steam games so they unlock before release. A friend of mine reviews games, most of his newer keys say something like that. None have eve been removed.
