I’d be surprised to know that not everybody knows how much I love this game. It has issues, but overall it’s totally worth it. Hard fights? Yeah, man, you’d feel like you are really just a guy who has a pipe as his weapon and leather jacket as his only armour. Plot-twists? Yeah, and you won't be prepared for them! Morality system? No Paragon/Renegade here, the moral is so very grey. Narrative? Oh man, don’t get me started. You see, there is a character who is telling the story – the narrator – but the playable character is not the narrator! The sountrack is wonderful. And maaan, the characters themselves! I can go on and on about this game, but you should just try it.

/emotional rant starts here
I love this game. I don't fall in love with games easily, but I fell with this one immediately, and it's pure luck that I had stumbled upon it.
Undoubtedly, it has its flaws, some things could have been handled better or differently, and I'm glad that the studio used this experience and progressed while making the next game (I'm talking about Bound by Flame, try it, and it's worth it, too).
And I'm a person who usually sucks at games, who uses the easiest difficulty setting because otherwise it would be frustrating. And this game was hard even on the easiest setting. But I liked it. I had to replay nearly every fight and some fights took me four or five attempts to manage through them, but I liked it -- for the music, the characters, the mysteries, Innocence's journal. For difficulty. For plot twists. For Mars itself. For the story of love and bonds and sacrifice and trying to be a better person for someone who sees you as a hero, even when you know you are not a hero at all.

I finished it and I felt that my life had been enriched.

I just... really love this game.

As I really love games with good story (and if story is good enough I can forgive a game a lot) could you say something more about the plot? Without spoilers of course :P Cos you really got me interested in the game and I'm considering to add it my wishlist :)

It's a carefully masquerading cyberpunk story -- and I mean, it's not about hackers, but it has the key features of a cyberpunk story (won't tell anything, it would be a spoiler).
It starts when Innocence, the narrator, is brought to a P.O.W. Camp. Innocence is young and, clearly, suffering from PTSD. He was a soldier in a war between two of the most influential Guilds (corporations-governments) on Mars and was taken prisoner. There, in that camp, right after his arrival, Innocence meets a man named Roy who protects him from the local scum. And then (it's not really a spoiler but I'll hide it anyway, just in case) Roy offers Innocence to run away, and things get interesting.
Believe me, it's totally worth it. It's cranky at times, and I have a few things to say about romance in the game but nobody even wants to hear it, it has interesting mecahnics, the story is really big. I think the game deserves to be played.

I also wrote a series of fanfics and a novel-size fanfic following the game story, lol x)
A sequel was announced, too, but as I understand it, it won't be a direct sequel of the War Logs story.

I am so excited about this game, it's embarrassing, I'm sorry.

Look at this shrimphound x)

It's difficult to say anything about the story without avoiding spoilers.
I'm not easily surprised, but this game is full of surprises and plottwists.

It's also still in Humble Bundle Weekly, so you can grab it for yourself.

I rarely buy games for myself, usually I'm giving them away now because I have a huge backlog already :) But sometimes I win something nice here instead :)
And I was late to buy it anyway. When I get back home another weekly bundle was already running

I had a dream we sent
a single seed to Mars, and all Mankind
watched, mesmerised, as a red rose
bloomed on that dusty, rusted world...

I liked it. It's not as good as Red Faction: Guerrilla and certainly not as good as Mass Effect, but they are a much smaller studio than Volition or BioWare so that's to be expected. I heard awhile back there is a second game in the series in the works, not sure if it's just rumor or what, but I've been keeping my eye out for it.

It's not a rumour (an article about it). I hope everything that was good in the first game, would be just as good in the second.

Too bad they announced it when I had already finished the first draft of my novel that followed the story of the first game. Some things about the second game contradict retro-worldbuilding I had done... Though it seems that the Technomancer is not a direct sequel, the protagonist is different.
