Never understood the need to spend big amounts of a game's budget on celebrities doing voiceover work, like Call of Duty did with Kevin Spacey and whoever they got for the new game. Good unknown voice actors will do the job just as good if not better, but I guess it helps with sales with casuals.
The only good examples of celebrity voiceovers that made sense/I liked I can think of right now are Stephen Merchant in Portal 2 and Jack Black in Brütal Legend

There are plenty of stars demanding high pay who don't try to run the show.
When you no longer need the money, you can demand as much as you want. even outside of entertainment, in the business world, I've encountered people asking for a ridiculously high fee, just because they don't really want to do the work. Of course, sometimes people actually pay that fee. Hell, I once was offered "as much as you want" to do a task I really didn't want to do except, I actually turned it down, rather than ask for something ridiculous. seems more honest, and I'd like to keep open the possibility of future work
Besides, if Willis demanded $4 million, and Stallone offered $3 million, I don't think it's ridiculously high pay. If he'd demanded $40 million it'd be different.

What makes you assume that Crews is significantly more expensive than a lesser-known voice actor, especially relative to the game's budget? Also, I think you're underestimating the budget for a Call of Duty game.

What's wrong with having recognizable actors in a game? If they can afford it why not?
Also, it doesn't automatically mean they earn a lot more than others.

Terry Crews seems really into the PC gaming community as of right now so it's no surprise. They are just teasing, it's coming.
Can't wait to play a new tank, hopefully Doomfist is the "red robot" we've seen on the artwork before the game even came out.
