Cleveland Day 8 (Part 1)
Only 2 hour drive to Pittsburgh from Cleveland? Why not? We only learned about the $10 in tolls after seeing the first toll booth >.<
Pittsburgh is an absolutely gorgeous city, I think the city most in tune with nature that I've ever seen in the US. It's kind of in a valley, with rivers surrounding all or hills surrounding all sides. Our first view of the city as we drove in on I279.

We went to the Strip District first. I guess they were having some kind of event that day, because the entire street was closed to traffic. Made it kind of annoying to drive in, though. First up: Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. Nice place, would visit again. Except olives. I hate olives. I really wish we could have bought some of the fresh pasta they had, but I didn't think it would survive the trip back.

Lunch was at Primanti Bros. Sandwich is ridiculous. I think it was more hype than substance though. I think it was kind of bland and dry - it really needed some condiments.

This sandwich really looks overstuffed. It might actually taste... intriguingly okay?... but it seems there's too much of everything.

Yeah I think there was a little too much going on there.

I think I am beginning to notice a pattern in your dining preferences :) sandwiches?
I love olives. Granted, it's an acquired taste and it took me awhile but now I am hooked. I could do a swan dive into the big tub of picholine olives you showed me there. Nice to know that Pittsburgh is looking so nice these days. You know what they used to yell in diners when the kitchen caught fire back in the day....

Where to next? You need to find yourself a good barbecue sammich after that questionable looking one in Ohio.
Road trips are just the best way to travel, imo. Haven't done one in quite awhile. So I'm on yours vicariously. :)

No idea yet. I don't have any vacation days left, so next long vacation won't be until mid-next year.

Aww. If it's going to be another road trip, this could be handy.

Pittsburgh likes fries on sandwiches and on salads ... they have a thing for soggy fried-potatoes that I just don't understand

Not entering, but thanks anyway. Since you're in Cleveland, I don't know where your next stop is, but if you're swinging by Michigan, let me know, and I'll have a bunch of stuff to recommend :-)
