Hello everyone,

I'm going to try, I think every Sunday, to post links to games that will be released the following week and that I think are interesting and original.

The goal here isn't to put up AAA games, but rather less "popular" ones, so that you can, i hope, discover some nuggets each week.
If I'm lucky enough to received the game from the publisher, I'll add the link to my video to show you a bit of the gameplay.

I can also miss some nice games, so don't hesitate to share the ones that attract you the most ;)

I'm adding a poll to the topic to see if many of you are interested.
Be honest, if it doesn't interest many people, don't let me do this for nothing :)

I hope you enjoy this topic, and I'll start right away with next week's games, to be followed in the replies below.

I played the demo of Indika during Nextfest and wow is that a creepy creepy game! Nicely done, although you kinda wish that nun had more warrior in her xD

Denizen looks like a cross between the Sims and Second Life. Not sure if that's a good thing or not but I'll bite.

Creepy and Strange yeah... totally strange xD
The visuals and atmosphere are excellent, but the gameplay is, in my opinion, less polished.

Permalink

That's how the demo felt, indeed. I think a good narrative and atmosphere are important in a game but it shouldn't come at the cost of gameplay. Otherwise, you're just watching a movie.

Comment has been collapsed.

I didn't find the gameplay catastrophic, but I did experience a few strange bugs (like walking on a chair on the ground that causes me to fly 10m into the air and die when I fall).
I totally agree, in fact in a narrative game the gameplay is almost important because every bug that doesn't move smoothly breaks the atmosphere and therefore breaks the most important element of the game.

I've played for the moment an hour (the beginning of the game is not the content of the demo which starts right after), for the moment I've decided not to play more, I'd rather wait for some corrections and adjustments to try to enjoy the rest of the game as much as possible. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the team will make some fixes soon.

Discover a digital realm shrouded in mystery in Cyber Manhunt 2: New World. Sequel to the award-winning narrative puzzle game. Play as an AI assistant in a major corporation. Deploy intricate social engineering tactics and expose hidden truths in a world of ambition and high-tech deception.

Zoo Simulator is interesting, it looks like you're getting involved in specific tasks like cleaning and welding (?) as well as running the zoo. They're certainly not going to compete with Planet Zoo on the management side, but maybe they'll carve out their own niche.

I already have it and will try it today if I find the time.
It has nothing to do with Planet Zoo, I don't think there's any construction or management involved, it's simply a zoo simulation game.

I confirm. It's a simulation game (Video Added on my channel)
There's no real management to speak of.
You've just acquired a run-down zoo, you fix up the enclosures, you adopt animals (not much choice unfortunately), you take care of them (food, water, social and activity).
You add a few buildings to your zoo and enclosures as you grow.
After a first run, the game looks clean and attractive. It now remains to be seen after some hours.

Wow, we are still playing Prince of Persia in 2024. That's crazy. The original is one of the first games I remember playing on PC. I was really bad at the sword battles, though.

Memoriapolis looks very interesting, I will keep an eye on that one.

Inn Tycoon... there are so many of these 'innkeeper' games now, but I have no idea which one is the best.

Endzone 2 just reminds me that I never did play Endzone or Surviving the Aftermath (which always seemed to basically be the same game). And now there's a sequel! I really ought to check out the original eventually.

Thanks for keeping this thread going Tucs!

I'm testing Endzone 2 at the moment and they've done a great job with multi-colony management and shipping.
Even if the basic gameplay remains quite similar, there's an evolution that I find significant and interesting.

Would be even odd to have a steering wheel when the truck in the game only has a joystick and some levers and buttons as controls.

I've added my first hour of Ale & Tale Tavern on video.
The Simulation / Action RPG mix is a bit strange, but the universe is cool and the gameplay doesn't seem bad. I'll definitely keep playing it.
I just hope the co-op emphasis isn't pushed too far, as I think I'll be playing it solo.

Every game has fishing now, it's pretty crazy!

I will definitely check out your video, and keep an eye on the game.

For me, co-op is appealing, but I only play co-op with two people (my son and my nephew) so one of them has to be interested in the genre for it to be relevant... and in this case, I don't think either one will be.
