anti-idling patch? That was for Team Fortress 2, nothing to do with cards.

I don't think the anti idling patch will affect the card drops ... its meant for TF2 items.

Card drops have been slow for me for the past two days. Game drops are fairly normal, but the Getaway cards are taking forever. They've been taking hours after purchases and its pretty widespread acc to the Steam forums.

Um, so, after you filled up the progress bar they're taking forever?
I mean, after I vote on three games I get my card instantly.

My last two cards took at least an hour to get into my inventory. Needed $2 for a drop, spent $15, and didn't get my cards until the next morning.

Heh, I didn't spend the $2 for that card drop. What I mean is that I later realized I had spent enough for 2 card drops but didn't receive either until next morning. I knew that was going to come out wrong.

Not even that. I'm making purchases and the progress bar doesn't fill. The cards eventually come, but it doesn't update right away like it did when the sale first started. I did get one after a vote this morning immediately, but have been waiting for two for my purchases.

Getting cards for voting seems to go faster but purchases is another story, yesterday it took like 4 hours before I got mine.

Yes it's very slow. I received mine 5~6 hours after the purchase.

Card drops weren't effected by the anti-idling patch. It still works just as it always has.

Thats what I thought, but since that patch went live, I cant get cards from games that I'm idling in.

I still can idle for the cards. But I think the required time for card drop has been increased. Instead of 15-30 minutes to drop a card it's now 30-60 minutes.

Same here.

Anyone know why did it change? I used to have 30 min drops and now it's 1h (what is extremely annoying in games I have completed - 4 hours of game running in background to get the damned thing done)

Are you idling more than 1 game at a time? Because that lowers the rate at which the cards drop, and not by a little bit. We're talking about a HUGE increase in the time it takes for them to drop. Like if you are idling say... 5 games, you could leave it running all night and come back in the morning and see only 1 card dropped. 1 game at a time is the fastest.

No, just one game, I leave it running for about 2 hours, I get one card, which dropped about 20 minutes after starting up the game. In order to get another card, I have to restart the game.

Are you playing another game while this is going on? Because that doesn't sound right to me.

I left awesomenauts running all night while I slept and woke up this morning to 8 spankin' new cards in my inventory.

"just one game" that means I have just one game running.

I have had this same experience, both when idling and when actually playing the games (I try to do the latter as much as possible, but a lot of cards have been added in a short period of time). I'll get a card drop pretty quick (30 mins sounds about right), and then either a very slow drop rate or sometimes nothing. I noticed yesterday that, like you, restarting a game seemed to "reset" something allowing a new card to drop again in a reasonable window of time (30-60 mins).

I'm not sure what to make of this. A couple games have not seemed to require restarting to get the drops in a reasonable amount of time, but CS:GO took me 5-6 hours and two restarts for 3 drops. I've put in 4-5 hours for the 3 drops I've so far gotten from Awesomenauts. Either Valve has changed the way drops are being made, or perhaps Steam's ability to keep the card server connected to us is extremely flaky right now because of the sale.

Aha, that explains everything, so now we can only idle one game at a time. Oh dear, pretty soon we'll actually have to play the game to get the drops... :)

It's always been like that though. More games at one time = much lower drop rate.
