level 3 and 4 (but mostly 4 i think i used to do)
because that was when i started getting into the gifting spirit
But with the addition of filters from sgtools, that helped filter absurd ratios and rule breakers, i lowered it to 3 mainly for invite only giveaways
for groups that already have filters to be admitted into group i'd remove the level limit or make it the minimum that was required to join
for groups that dont have those basic ratio/rule breaker ratios , i'd still be inclined to make a level limit since i cant use sgtools on group giveaways
today i did a challenge where i made 1 public giveaways for all levels 0-10 so yeah sometimes the levels just get picked based on little momentary things
funny thing tho
one of the winners was actually my friend who i had met a year ago on KF2, never knew he was on SG what a small world we live in,
one winner was an absurd leecher 201 won to 12 sent ratio which is why i like sgtools to filter out ratios ,
one winner was an incredible gifter who has a 29 won to 561 sent ratio with a majority of it being lvl 0 public giveaways)
but otherwise i really stray away from public giveaways , ive only done a couple to get my "public cv up a bit" but in the end i just rather have fun doing invite only/thread based giveaways
and maybe one day ill use my die, its a pretty blue clear die i like to keep around as my own special charm

Honestly, I wouldn't dream of doing a public GA for level 0 or 1. There's thousands of users on here who win tens of thousands of games while contributing nothing, or as close to nothing as makes no difference, and I just have no inclination of giving them any more... And, of course, there's the practical consideration that those same users are probably the ones most likely to cause problems with not marking wins as received, or requiring re-rolls for previous rule breaks.

I click somewhere in the middle of the bar and just accept whatever it landed on. So it's usually 4,5,6,7 :^)

0.
Any restriction I want to impose (read: keeping them limited to people who're active on these forums) , I can do by making the GA's invite-only and dropping a link where I want to.

I love how his/her tail is sticking out after s/he "hides" again.

Also, there are too many dev key
farmerspromoters among the higher levels.
That is the main reason I don't do GAs over level 7. It's sad.

I suggest that you start with Level 0, because it matches the level of giveaways that you can enter at this stage.
Later on if you want to reward contributors and avoid having to deal with rule breakers all the time, you can switch to SGTools-filtered giveaways. They make life easy and are much more flexible than Level-based giveaways.
I practically do only Level 0 giveaways, but have used contributor-focused SGTools-filtered ones in the past and will probably do them again at some point in time.

Most of the times i just go level1 to lock out the pure leechers that don't give anything at all. Should i ever get around to actually give away non-bundled games i probably go with 3... maybe 4.

0 - never (wont support leechers under any circumstances)
1 - never ^^ (still leecher, u can giveaway anything to get lvl 1... it can be 0,10€ dlc, still leecher)
2 - never (still almost leecher, some better bundle game is enough)
3 - for some low games
4 - for some low games
5 + better games

I usually use my actual level, before the current system I aimed at $30.01 contribution. I really should start to clear my inventory again...

For public GAs of bundled games (or long trains), generally 2-5. If the game has cards, then at least level 3 since most people are just entering to farm cardz and make profitz.
For most unbundled games, 5+.
For group/whitelist, level 0.
Welcome to Steamgifts!

So far i've went:
I'll need to revise this system later on because there's a lot of unused space in it.

Hi Folks,
I am new and eager to give to this community. I just joined less then 24 hours and doing my part giving away games.
The question I have is when you are personally giving away a game, how are you determining what the minimum level a user can take part in your give away?
I am sure you all have you personal methods based on things ranging from your mood at the time or the value of the game. I would love to hear what makes you decide what level to put on your giveaway.
Thanks
