Got a D20, but it has letters. Most of those game from board games in the thrift store I used to help at. They chuck out a lot of them, so I kept the dice.

Ah, I have a set of nice custom dice I bought years ago for rpgs and the like. I also have far too many D6s from my "serious" wargaming days.Whilst looking up "40k dice stacks" I stumbled across this page Dice-stacking world record holders. Heh.

Level 0. Everyone should be allowed to enter a giveaway. It's up to you though what you'll eventually choose.

Almost same here, but for me it's L1 - for those, who at least made their first step to giving back to community. Above L1, all levels should have their chances, in my oppinion. Fate (or SG random number generator) is "wise" enough to determine a winner.

There is not. You should just make for a level you feel comfortable with. Lower levels have a higher chance of rule breakers and rude people, but it also allows more people to enter. I tend to stick with level 4-5 (although before I personally reached those level I tended to stick with 3. Not even sure why :p).

personally on public GAs i judge off the avg amount of "steam friends" that own ea game.. in my case something that 100-160 people own, it goes to the lower levels. 20-70 the middle levels. if only 4-10 people own, the higher levels.. etc. -- obviously that works best with a cple hundred plus steam friends though (i kept all my trading & gifting invites that kept me)
actually i even use that still to a degree on group ones too.. and no there is no standard really, whatever people wanna do ^^
edit: i realized group part doesn't make much.. i meant = the amount of groups that get to partake in the ga ;)

yeah, i use steam friends for a number of things really. can also tell approximately how good a non-bundled, non-discounted, AAA by how many users own and actually play it as well as how many hours.. i've found a few different good reasons to hang on to all those old trade steam friend requests/adds xD

I normally make all my giveaways Level 2+ , because I feel like that should greatly decrease the chance of problems occurring (they don't mark gift as received, they lie saying the first key didn't work and want another, etc.)

Depends on a few things -
I almost never do giveaways for everyone. I like level 1s because these people have made an effort to give away in addition to joining giveaways.

Level 2 or higher is what I set them for. Most of my public giveaways have been level 2 so far I think... Just decided that I'd rather give games to those who've at least given a few themselves. I'll probably develop a system later for better deciding levels on an individual basis, but... I'll have to sit and think about it.

I started with a few level 0 since I was also 0. When I hit L2 I started doing L2. And when I went above that I kept it at 2. Hmm. Looking at my list it looks like I've never gone above L2. I thought I had once. I figure its a good number. it only take a single giveaway to hit L1 so I like L2 better. You need more then a single GA and after doing a few to reach L2 I figure your not likely a rule breaker. But its still within easy reach of everyone if they want.
I normally stay away from pubic ones but I've done a few. Most of mine are private because I like using SGTools (basic rules only so far). You just have to read the forums. My links are clear. I've not made any puzzles yet.
I keep seeing a challenge to do at least one for each level 0-10 public. I might give that a go. I have not made up my mind yet.
Anyone do that yet? ..... Other then the guy issuing the challenge that is. lol.

I'll watch something sad and see how many teardrops come out.
Seriously though, I mostly spread just them around, depending on what I'm doing and what I'm giving away. Like if I'm doing 30 giveaways, I could do 10 per level between 3-5 or 6 per level between 2-6.

If its a group or private giveaway, I will usually just not give it a level limit because I don't see the need for it. For public giveaways, I usually make them level 1 because it filters out the leechers a bit and slightly reduces the chances of getting a winner with multiple or unactivated wins.

I set the level to whatever I feel like it at that moment, generally keeping it low (usually levels 1 or 2).

I check latest shitposter creator and do +1 (if he's 10, than lvl is 0) :P

Hi Folks,
I am new and eager to give to this community. I just joined less then 24 hours and doing my part giving away games.
The question I have is when you are personally giving away a game, how are you determining what the minimum level a user can take part in your give away?
I am sure you all have you personal methods based on things ranging from your mood at the time or the value of the game. I would love to hear what makes you decide what level to put on your giveaway.
Thanks
