Man used that 2K coupon right on time...
I wish they would actually TELL US that we had it though lol.
No email, no prompt, no nothing. :/ If it wasn't for this thread I would never know. lol
So thanks to you Jatan. <333

prepare for even more tempting then,
Risen 2 is $7.50 (75% off) on GamersGate right now & it's Steam redeemable:

GamersGate's sales have mostly sucked this holiday season but this is actually a good one

Does this already work?
I have two mails saying "you have earned a $5 credit toward the purchase of select game downloads starting 1/1/2013 and good through 1/31/2013", but no discount gets applied if I try to buy the game (it would work for Hotline Miami though)
Comment has been collapsed.
It's not on the EC list yet. Tony said it will be added in the next couple of days.

The $5 promo works on the Kingdoms of Amalur Complete Bundle, bringing it down to $10

I just bought 2 copies of FIFA13 for 15usd. Not sure how the coupon works..

Wow... Just when I was starting to like Amazon, after them screwing me out of $600 (CC info was saved even though I deleted it and Amazon Support would HANG UP ON ME when I'd call), they bait and switch with Bioshock...
Bioshock Dual Pack was supposed to be $5 til Jan 5th. Now it's $5 with coupon and not even available.
Comment has been collapsed.
It will be back 1/2. Bioshock Pack was not a good deal once all of the other packs were $5. At any rate, Amazon and 2K don't want to give you free games. That makes sense, no?
I don't think you know what bait & switch means...

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bait%20and%20switch
2: the ploy of offering a person something desirable to gain favor (as political support) then thwarting expectations with something less desirable
Bait:
Was offered "something desirable" ($5 in credit after December 31st, Bioshock 2 Pack for $5)
Switch:
But now have to buy "something less desirable" or lose out on the credit.

Bioshock Pack was not on the EC list until AFTER they announced that the price was changing. I see no bait and switch there.
Edit: I think they've decided to remove the pack from the list since all the other packs including the games are the same price.
Comment has been collapsed.
The Bioshock dual pack was on the list since before christmas, and was still on there last night, so yes... bait and switch. I don't care if you don't think so, It was there when I made my purchase, an Amazon rep said to be on sale til the 5th of January and now it's not there. That is the definition of 'bait and switch'.
Comment has been collapsed.
Okay, I still don't think you know what bait and switch means, but I guess that's fine. Apparently if a sale is canceled early it's "bait and switch" to you.
Comment has been collapsed.
I haven't gotten the email confirmation either, but I have the credit. If I go to any of the 2012 Editor's Choice games, and click the Buy and Download button, it takes $5 off.

So lame... why did they message me so many times then? ;_;

Single use promos say "Note, credit may only be used once per customer"
Multiple use promos say "Qualifying codes for this promotion may only be used one at a time."
Guess which one EC is?
Comment has been collapsed.
To clarify further: I had about ten of them.
When I bought Dark Souls, it only allowed me to use one. (IE: No more than $5 off)
When I bought Hotline Miami, it let me use another one. (Again, $5 off)
So you can use as many as you have earned, but only once per purchase.

Why is the Mac-Version of Walking Dead cheaper than the normal? Mac Version isn't listed as Steam DRM at the top but in the description Steam is mentioned. So there shouldn't be any difference and you get a Steam key with both? Mac Version, Normal Version

Risen 2 is cheaper ($7.50) on GamersGate right now and it's Steam redeemable:

You had to have received a CD key before they ran out in order to not get refunded. You either purchased it well after they ran out or waited too long to click "Show Product Key". If you were purchasing for personal use and not to resell, you most likely would have clicked "Show Product Key" right away.
If you go to a vending machine and you try to order something that is out of stock, do you get put on a waiting list or do you get a refund? Why would this transaction be any different? The only reason you got as "close" as you did to "receiving keys" is because it's all automated.
Comment has been collapsed.
Uhhhh, considering that the site was running as slow as molasses during the Bethesda incident, most people who wanted to get their keys could not. For me, it took me about 30 minutes to get each key. I can see people getting impatient and just deciding to wait until the lag died down to get their keys.
Comment has been collapsed.
Who's fault is that?
I don't make the rules, just telling people how it went. It didn't just magically slow down, if you spent the time to get it into the cart and get the order through, you could spend the time to get the key.
I still don't know where everyone shops where they honor price errors on everything. Maybe no one steps outside and goes to B&M stores anymore.

I was talking about your statement that "If you were purchasing for personal use and not to resell, you most likely would have clicked 'Show Product Key' right away" is not necessarily correct.
That is not true at all. I actually think the opposite is true. Most people who were reselling got offers instantly from people who didn't want to spend 4+ hours trying to buy the pack. The people who wanted the keys for personal use had a lesser incentive to get their keys right away. I'm guessing that most people did not realize that GG would run out of keys so quickly and then force refunds.

And as I said in my previous reply It didn't just magically slow down, if you spent the time to get it into the cart and get the order through, you could spend the time to get the key. Our opinions obviously differ as I fought to get my key and you wouldn't have. As a result I still have my Borderlands 2 4pack, so no regrets here!
To say people didn't realize GG would run out of keys is horrible excuse. They just had a similar incident with the Bethesda Pack and when you see a AAA game, released only 3 months ago with a 96% discount, something should click in your head to say "Hey, that's not right".
Comment has been collapsed.
I was talking about the Bethesda pack not BL2... That was the first price error, and people did not know GG would run out, since it had never happened before...
"It didn't just magically slow down, if you spent the time to get it into the cart and get the order through, you could spend the time to get the key."
Not true. It took me 4 hours to buy the packs, then 10 hours to get all of the keys (other than Fallout 3). I don't know that many people who will spend 10 hours on a computer getting keys that they assume will still be there in the future. ESPECIALLY after GG released the announcement that they would restock in January.
Comment has been collapsed.
I guess you posted this before reading my other reply.
As for the Borderlands 2 mishap, I might have got lucky. I bought the Borderlands 2 Season Pass for $7.50, site slowed down a bit, bought another, slowed down even more. Then I saw the Borderlands 2 4pack on the site itself so I purchased it and then it really started to crawl when I went to retrieve my keys. Shortly after the keys were all gone and stayed slow from people trying to purchase an out of stock price error.

Steam, for example?
And also, GamersGate didn't said "we made error, we'll give you money back", they said "we made error, we'll get you keys in January". If they would said first line from start, there wouldn't be that much rage.
Did anyone who received few keys received rest of them? Because this was holidays time, I guess GG talk with Bethesda and Steam about either supplying rest of order or taking away keys would start tomorrow.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks for another example of an online retailer who uses an automatic distribution system. With no human interaction, they can't stop price errors from going through.
They had said that about the Bethesda Pack which I did not purchase, so that's not really what I'm discussing. I'm strictly talking about the Borderlands 2 4Pack which is very similar, but not quite the same situation.
I haven't received the rest of my 4pack yet, but it hasn't been removed or refunded so I'm confident they're coming.

You never specified which price error you were talking about in your first posts, which is partially why this discussion happened in the first place. The entire time I was assuming you were talking about Bethesda :P
