Yay?
I don’t think anything written by price, Deroir, or fries was that bad, I think the whole thing got blown out of proportion. Yay internet. But I understand how a shitstorm can develop and how a company may need to take drastic measures to appease their customer base. Shit happens.
What I five appalling are the people who are not just cheering the termination but actively hoping they’ll never work again. Do you have any idea how miserable it is to get fired? Now multiply that feeling a thousandfold to be unemployable. These are stil human beings.

I don't agree with Price, the vitriol was uncalled for although if it's any consolation, people on the internet has the memory span of a gold fish. They'd forget about the whole thing soon and latch on to the next drama regardless of what camp you fall in. Only a select few people with too much time in their hands would be keeping tabs of this for any considerable amount of time.

She called one of the most famous and respected guild war streamers, very well known to the community, who tried to contribute to the discussion in a extremely polite manner "rando asshat"
Then she started banning a lot of the members of the guild war community when they tried to point out that it all started when she wrote a big piece in the most public forum ever, and called then, males and females "Hurt manfeels"
And this is coming from the person that announced in Twitter how happy she was that a person had died of cáncer, leaving a family behind. So, especially considering the last part, fuck her

Twitter, reddit and whatever else other nonsense modern means of communication exist out there never seem to disappoint as melting pots for society's most challenged (just pick in what, you can't miss). Definitely shows a big part of mankind hasn't really evolved since we left our caves to find that one guy standing out there showing others how fire works, most likely instantly regretting sharing his knowledge with a bunch of dimwits up to no good.

Too bad we can't remove the OP
Its nice of you to advocate for my removal because of your hurt fee-fees due to an apparent inability to handle the truth.
You poor slops really do love to make yourself look like complete and utter tools with your two-bit ragequits.

You are what you rail against.
Uhuh.I'm somehow "exactly the same" as a psycho dev that sunk her own career faster than the Titanic by attacking her company's customers, content creators & partners for political bullshit reasons and her buddy that stupidly came to her defense and sunk along for the ride.
Case in point. You are a tool.

1-someone told she how should do his job when the guy (totalbiscuit??) don't know anything about writing games
2-she just said that because she is a woman doesn't means she don't know how to make his job??
3-the trolls appear and attack she????
4-then she defend herself saying bad words
5-she lost his job????
that's what i understand.....
i have 3 questions if anyone also can answer me:
1-who's totalbiscuit???
2-so why people attacked she just because she wrote that twitter of totalbiscuit
3-is that totalbiscuit an innocent or was a total garbage person??

He was a videogame reviewer who died from cancer last month.

Total Biscuit was a YouTuber and protector of consumers who died of cancer. She then proceeded to cheer. This happened in May.
Someone politely offered conversation on her Twitter thread about writing dialogue in MMO's.
She misinterpretated it as "telling her to do her job" somehow and went on the offense. Guy apoliges and moved on.
She made a new post referencing his comments saying "This is what woman deal with" and again that he was telling her how to do her job (he wasn't).
People point out she was wrong.
Total meltdown followed, blaming "mansplaining", "assholes" and pretty much blocking left and right and telling people they needed to go away, that she wasn't their whore, that her time was too precious to deal with fans.
She got fired.
And there was much rejoicing!!!

While I agree that the "mob mentality" is not pretty to watch, from my limited perspective, the company was in the right to fire them. The internet is a public place and employees, especially those of high rank, are expected to uphold a good image to reflect on their company. Even in stages as early as the hiring process, something that you posted on the internet a while ago can lead to you being turned down for a job. The streamer seemed to want to engage in a friendly discussion and she went full-ham attack on him in response. That's not acceptable behavior. Judging by her past actions, my guess is that she has had a history of creating trouble, so her being fired was not a "one strike, you're done" sort of deal. Obviously I can't be sure of that, but it'd fit in with the circumstances.
As for the other guy, he could have supported her without getting into that mess, but him making a public association with her and supporting her flaming meant he was, from an outside view, "Supporting this rude employee over the company he worked for." Perhaps he just wanted to help her and not actually agree with her, as he said he respects her and is a friend, but its implications are pretty bad. And from how I personally see it, I don't know how anyone can respect/see her as a friend after she posted such a hateful comment over someone who just died, especially of cancer and with a family. I say that as someone who has not had much experience with loved ones having cancer and as someone who has never watched TB's content. It's outright disgusting and I'm surprised it didn't get her fired on the spot.
So, yeah, that's my two cents.

Good post. She is obviously a very negative person in public so I'd hate to see what she was like behind closed doors. I'm surprised she survived her totalbiscuit comment too and definitely think the company was watching her since then for something like this to happen. I agree her work mate was obviously trying to stand by her, but personally to me (in this case) a good friend should have told her to pull her head in, not backed up her negative behaviour. She was the one that made this about sex but you can see from her comments that she likely felt she was on the receiving end of sexist behaviour in the past. A great shame for her she chose the wrong time and target to stand up to it, if she had a leg to stand on in this instance she would probably be now applauded and more respected, instead of being attacked and ridiculed. She's obviously a fighter, and good for her, but in this case she was the one that started the fight and then added petrol to the blaze repeatedly.

Thanks! I think the points you made are good as well. I'm not saying sexism doesn't exist, but her immediately jumping to that conclusion and using it as a issue to hide behind was not the best move, to say the least. And I'm saying this as a woman myself; it's actually more embarrassing to me to see a member of my gender (though this would be the case for anyone acting like this, just making a point here) act hateful and without due cause rather than to have her "standing up for women." =P

For sure, the whole situation to me felt like she had suffered a lot of sexism in her industry, I can't say if it did or didn't exist though either after seeing how she reacted to this situation, perhaps she saw sexism where none existed. I've read other women though saying the I.T. industry is very anti-female, personally when I worked in I.T. I never saw that, people were respected for their skills and not disrespected for their sex. My oldest daughter will likely be looking for a job in the game development industry so it is interesting to me to see how this woman has reacted in this situation and wondering why. But you are definitely correct again, she in the end has come across as a hateful bully and not a crusader for womens rights in the industry.

People should not be fired for what they say on twitter.
Last time I checked,"saying something on twitter" and outright attacking your company's content creators, partners & community as a whole are two different things.
"a typical SJW sociopath"
Which is exactly what she is.
using insults
I did nothing of the sort.
"fee-fees"
This counts as an insult to you?Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.
your opinions are trash
Just because you suffer from a ragequit similar to that of Price and despise my opinions as if they killed your loved ones or something, they aren't going to become trash.Especially given how the evidence speaks for itself and confirms virtually everything I have said.
Denial of reality just makes you look funny.

It is pretty much the standard in America- you can be held accountable for what you say by your employer. Freedom of speech only protects you from the government, it does not stop your employer from terminating your employment for saying stupid things.
If I post on Facebook or Twitter just how shitty the company I work for is, and they find out- I can expect to get fired. Hell, I can post that I love kittens and get fired for it, I am an at-will employee like 90% of Americans and can be fired for any or no reason at all.
That said, the term 'SJW' as an insult is pretty tired, and degrades any conversation. It is right up there with calling someone a nazi, yet possibly more ridiculous in the fact that we'd (mostly by large majority) all agree that social justice in itself is a good thing, and that nazis are bad....
What bothers me the most is the mass hysteria that seems to dominate the political conversation these days. We tend to forget that we all have more in common than we don't, yet we seem to feel the need to divide each other into impossibly base choices and tribes. It feels like a school of fish swimming from feeding frenzy to the next, and it makes me wonder about ulterior motives.

Absolutely nailed it with the last two paragraphs. You eloquently illustrated what I was getting at with my lazy tribalism comment.

This is one of the few comments in this thread that I can get behind. I don't disagree with a lot of what's being said, but goddamn there's so much lazy language being thrown around. It seems like people just want to check a certain amount of boxes, leave it at that, and fight with anyone who disagrees. There are complexities to this situation and catchphrases and meme-ish language doesn't accomplish or validate anything.

I love it when bullshit has consequences.
Meet Jessica Price.A GW writer and, judging by her tweets,a typical SJW sociopath. She was also one of the freaks that danced on TotalBiscuits's grave,so you could say that TB's ghost has struck again.
Anyway,a GW streamer by the name of Deroir wanted to have a convo with her about character writing in an MMORPG.Rather friendly and constructive tweets overall.Nothing wrong there, right?
Well, apparently there was, given how Price went completely ape in response. There was rage.A lot of rage.
Needless to say, people weren't exactly impressed by this rather obvious ragequit.Still,it didn't stop her fellow writer,a certain Peter Fries, from running to her defense and making himself look like a complete moron in the process.
Of course,I'm sure that I've made it obvious that this story has a happy ending. In a rather expected (but still all too rare) turn of events, both got their arses fired as a reward for their stupidity.Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Hope this little karmic tale brightens your day a bit.
