Sharing gifts is not what I would call being greedy. Contribution value only gives you vague number, not the exact number of dollars used anyway.

Aye but gifting games for free is an act I would not define as being greedy.

Because people might be interested in one or two games but not the entire bundle?
I dunno, I'd rather make 5 people happy with a game they want than 1 person with 2 games they want and 3 games they'll never even try.

we can discuss hours on the concept of giving away and the reason people do that, but i ll pass! ^^

Why do you people feel the need to be hostile towards the op? He asked a legit question, and the thread simonli2575 linked isn't listed in the FAQ.
In short John - the * games are the ones that have at one point been in an indie bundle. Since one can get those quite cheaper than games from the Steam store, the contribution value one could receive from them is hampered. If you haven't gifted non starred games you can get only $30 contribution value. If you do gift non starred (or rather - non bundle) games, your contribution value will increase, but to get the "full" value, you need to have gifted more non bundle that bundle games.

It's probably because the way he phrased his question (' i gifted game for 70$'), he could be seen as complaining that the keys he's got from one single $1 bundle don't give him the full $70 credit. People are still very sensitive on all matters pertaining to contrib value :)
Great job on the summary BTW !

yeah the thread linked isn t on FAQ and clarify most of my doubt, only thing i ve not understand is: if i gift more non-bundle games (than bundle-games) i receive "full" value also for the bundle-games? and: for bundle-games once gifted for 30$ then the the other bundle-gifts are calculated as 20% of their "full value", is it right? am i understand correct? or once arrived to 30$ then the other bundle-gifts are not calculated?

1) Only bundle games = max $30;
2) Most are bundle games, some are non bundle = non bundle games value + 20% of bundle games value. Or to be precise, the $30 + 20% of the rest of the value. For example, if you now make a giveaway for a non bundle $20 game, you'll have $20 from that + $30 from the first few bundle games + 0.2*$40 (the value of the rest of your bundle games) = $58 in total;
3) More none bundle games = full value.

+1 to people asking legit questions!
-1 to people being hyperaggressive effers to people asking legit questions!

while they are legit questions, it is pretty much common knowledge around the forums as to why that happens. Also, being here for 7 months and not checking the forums much to even know that fact and commenting only a few times probably means that he is a leecher that wants to partake in contributor giveaways.
