How Can I Get a Free Postal 2 Key?

I already have the game on Desura (Thanks Be mine!)
But how can i get the Steam key? :/

My understanding is that everyone who owns it on Desura will be getting a free Steam key, but they haven't gone out yet. The key should either get e-mailed to you or be in your account here then they become available.

I gave away my key from BeMine3.

Why did they choose Desura to distribute Steam keys rather than Groupees? Seems almost like it'd almost be a conflict of interest for Desura.

Because Desura already has a simple system for distributing CD keys on existing products. This just allows them to distribute all the keys (From Groupees or Desura) in one pass.

They're helping their competitors though, that's not normal business ethic!

Not only are Desura and Steam competitors, but Desura runs Indie Royale which is a competitor to Groupees. Although the indie bundle competitiveness should be a minimum, since the goal is to help the developers, not profit from them.

Desura and Steam are not really competitiors, they are selling different games. Steam mainly sells games from big publishers and Desura sells (almost) only indie games and AFAIK Desura is better for indie devs.

They are both digital game distributors, not to mention the thread is about a game that's on both services. You could debate whether they're direct or indirect, but certainly can't deny the fact that they are competitors.

they're even selling some steamworks games, e.g.: http://www.desura.com/games/nuclear-dawn

anyway, this is something handed out by the devs, desura just supports them and why wouldn't they want to give their customers some extra value?

For those that took part in the Free Key Promotion:
Hey all.

Good news is I have the keys, ready to hand out to the 300+ that took part in our promotion. Bad news is there does not seem to be an easy way for this to work. I thought that I'd be able to send people private messages, or gift them copies straight from my account. The only way i can do it is to give a key to each person, and for that you'll all need to contact me.

Sign up to the www.runningwithscissors.com forums, and find me (same username, Toploader, found here: http://runningwithscissors.com/main/index.php?action=profile;u=3)

Then send me a private message with your Steam name and and a link to your profile page. If you have changed your name since posting in the promotion thread, it would make it easier for me if you could let me know that.

Right click "Postal 2" in your Desura library and then "Get CD-Key"

or if you don't want to load desura, just go there while logged in: http://www.desura.com/cart/cdkeys (find postal 2 and hit retrieve key if it doesn't show already)
