Someone once told me "Buy me X game and I'll give you Y game in return". I accepted, while we were in the "trade" screen I asked where was the gift and he said it's in his library and he doesn't know how to trade it. He still asked me to gift my game to him and he said he'd "give his account password" to me afterwards. Well it was a 20€ wasted, I gave the game away here but it was a bad purchase nevertheless.

One time I wanted to see how far it would go so I wasted a half-hour of their time pretending like I was doing each step.
Other times I just played along for a little while before calling them scammers.
Nowadays I just go straight to, "no, you're a liar, you're a scammer. Get us off your list; you're never gonna get any money."
The Steam scams I've seen personally have all been quite boring, I guess, because I can't remember any.

Here they do the car accident phone scam. They call old people and pretend their son/daughter had a car crash, wanting money for surgery. They once or twice called my grandmother, but she starts swearing the moment they say "Hello". :D Next time she wants to play along and give them the address of the police station instead of hers.
