No point in lying, I joined because I wanted a chance to win some free games :)
As a bonus, I can now give away my spare keys that would otherwise just "gather dust" in the depths of my PC.

I don't remember anymore where I heard about this site, but I did find it interesting. I had some spare bundle games that I wasn't planning on playing myself so I joined and gave them away. Now that I look at my created giveaways history, it wasn't even ten days after joining when I started buying games to give them away.

lol I suppose anyone could get addicted to give away games

I was trying to win some specific game that I couldn't afford.. I forget which lol. Ended up buying it anyway.. Stuck around for a little while, won a few more games, then got distracted and forgot about this place for like 2 years lol... Now I'm back.. To win games I can't afford/justify, and to give out any keys I come across that I don't need/want.

Pretty fair actually, good luck with the giveaways you join c:

Mostly I go after bundle games where I don't want the rest of the bundle (or in the case of Tomb Raider II, III, and Temple of Osiris, a bundle I missed).. Not that I ignore the big ticket items, but I'll be happy just filling in the gaps for now.
That said, I see Rise of the Tomb Raider, or Deserts of Kharak, I'm gonna be all over it :D Screw one in six thousand chance of winning. One of these days I'll be that one.. maybe.

I joined with the intention of getting free games that I like so I'm able to spend less money. After a while I decided to also give away some stuff and today I also started to trade some stuff I cant give away.

"Free games!"
Enters for "free shtuff yay"
"Oh, there's a forum?"
Can't stop going on the forum
Becomes unofficial official spammer
Forum has giveaways, win first game
"Winning is good..."
Keeps spamming the forum
Gives a few cheap games
"Can't afford to get blacklisted for not giving anything"
Basically pretends to be a regular "generous" user
Only gives shit games
Wins games
SGv2 is launched
Blacklists are now implemented in the system, also whitelists
Gets whitelisted because spammer
Wins more games
Not even entering public giveaways anymore
"Shit, feeling pretty guilty about this ratio..."
Tries to give better stuff
"Fuck it, quantity over quality"
Gives MORE stuff instead
Dumps a couple of "okay" non-bundled games from time to time
Still a cheap-ass
...Wait, this isn't Reddit is it? I'm not good at this internet stuff.
Here comes the blacklisting and un-whitelisting for revealing my secrets...

Because I didn't know what this was, but I heard this was a site I could trade on. Well. . . after I came here I was told I couldn't join since my Steam account wasn't rich enough so I swore to increase it so that I could join. Simply because I couldn't at first.
Now I give away games and did a tiny bit of trading (55) and for the most part now I just check here to get rid of these free points so I can gather more free points. It's a NEW vicious cycle.

Joined during the huge 25000 key Faerie Solitaire giveaway.
Free games?
TIME TO LEECH!

One of the games I gifted early on SG was Faerie Solitaire. I bought the game and enjoyed it, so bought a gift copy before I joined, and it was one of the games I didn't find a home for. When I gifted it I got a very nice thank you to Brian (from lokonopa), and I learned that the developer was giving away a lot of copies. Later the big giveaway happened.

I joined because I had a game I wanted to trade and this seemed to be the best place to do it. Then after a month or so I started looking into the GA's and forum. Since then I quit trading and just give away my leftovers. Actually won some cool games lately as well which is nice. Plus the community on this forum seems to be great (with some exceptions of course, but there always are..)

This is the first time I actually cared to make a post in the discussions, been a SG user for nearly a year but either way, hey there c:
So I was wondering why did you guys joined SG; many seem to be leechers (no offense, nice people too c: ) or try to, but most just seem to be just around to give away stuff out of good will, so tell me why did you join?
Personally, I joined SG as soon as I met the requirements to as this is one of my ways to be able to get games here in my country, for steam I mean, the other would be trading cards, usually here too, as I don't own a credit card, getting it in my country is pretty difficult actually, so I don't really have a steam wallet, and even if I did, inflation in my country is out of control, making games really unaffordable, no steam retail games around either, so honestly, most of gamers around here reccur to piracy, I preferred finding a clever way to get my games and be part of a great community as any gamer should be able to, and well, looking for that way, I ended up here, I hardly get games often, nor the ones I'm particularly looking for, but with a lot of effort around and a little luck (and enough cards lol) I manage to get certain games every now and then c:
So what's your story then?
