For a while now Steam logs me out of their webpage very often. It's getting kind of annoying since I have to use the steam guard to login every time.
I think it's every two days that I need to log in again. The steam client itself is okay, I guess I only need to relog there every once in a while which I guess is a safety measure.
Does this happen to you too? Is there any way to fix it?
I mainly use two screens, my laptop and desktop.
There is a ga for wurm unlimited in this line of text. vxe and before that there is yd in capitals.

Yes

That sometimes happens to me as well, though not as often. No idea what's up with that, but I agree that the extra step (steam guard confirmation) is rather annoying :/

I reckon the cookies expire when a particular time period passes and/or the internet connection is reset(modem restart, in case of dynamic IP connections).

^ This. One of various things may be happening:

  1. When you clear your browser history / cookies manually, by automatic browser definition, or by another software
  2. Steam cookies may expire after those 2 days
  3. Internet connection is reset

Basically being logged out means that the respective browser cookie was for some reason deleted.

Hmm well why would this only happen to steam? Any other website I use has pretty much permanently been logged in since I first opened them.

It all depends on cookie validity. The website developer decides what will be the cookie validity, in steam's case it seems it is less to ensure more security.

Do you use any kind of script for Steam (like Enhanced Steam)? I have the same problem and it seems to be related to using Enhanced Steam.

I have this problem and I am using ES.
Wish there were a solution because I don't want to stop using ES.

Same here. It really sucks that there is no fix for it.

Had the same problem before but it's not ES. Do you, by chance, have 'Steam Ratings' userscript or something like that name?

Yes I have SteamGifts Steam Ratings. Is there a solution expect disabling the script?

If you use the Steam Ratings script for SG, it still will log you out on Steam. I just mention this for clarification.

Ahh wel yes that seems the case then. However. I don't have the script on my laptop. How can it happen there too?

Have you tried clicking Enhanced Steam's drop down menu and clicking clear cached data? That usually fixes it for me.

Just tried. Will edit and info on whether or not that worked for me in a day :)

Sadly it didn't work.

I only have a script here on my desktop to view game ratings directly in steamgifts. But no scripts on my laptop. So that can't be it.

Where is the No option? Only happens to me if I clear browser's history, cache or use software like CCleaner.

Oops. I thought I added No. :O

Anyway. I don't regularly clear my cookies.

I don't have a problem with it normally except on my phone - every damn time I load my inventory in Firefox it signs me out for some reason I fail to understand.

I've had this happen when I forget to turn off VPN or IP hiding extension. I normally turn them off for Steam but it slips my mind sometimes.

There were a couple possible solutions to this problem posted in this thread.

YMMV.

It happens >>all the time<< with my browser, usually after a period of being inactive.

Solution: Don't bother with Log in & Steam guard, just wait about 30sec - 1min and try again (reloading the site).
In almost all cases it seems to work out for me that way. That is if you have been logged in properly before, of course :)

It's annoying, yeah, feels like we are getting queued >:

It happens every time I restart my computer or if I just close and reopen Google Chrome... So basically once a day.
