Just read in a local tech magazine, that Blizzard is giving away 3 classic games for a limited time.

Lost Vikings - Blackthorne - Rock N Roll Racing

https://us.battle.net/account/download/?show=classic

I used to play Lost Vikings a lot as a little kid, so I figured some of you might be interested as well.

Why ? Why does everyone make multiple threads on the same topic even days after the news first comes out ? I mean , its not that hard to use the search function in the Forums ? Is it so hard to use it ?

care to link to other threads? i'm visiting this forum a lot and this is the first time i've seen topic about this
+[]() search for what? this? there's less info

Yup. That's the thread I was referring to. Thanks for linking it , I was lazy :D

And whats wrong with it , it has all the relevant info, what more could you want ? Besides , no offense meant to you or anyone , its just I don't see the point in making new threads on the same topic. It seems more fun to me if you continue the discussion in one thread where everyone can participate and read the info. At least until the thread becomes too big to manage.

That's the reason my comment starts with a "Why" ? I'm curious. I've often seen people make multiple threads and my comment was meant to figure out why by asking the guys here directly. But from your comment it sounds like its giving the wrong impression. ( I guess I need to work on my words ...... It's kinda hard to convey your tone in a written message... at least for me )

Well, in the first place, it's harder for people to derive your tone judging from your use of space before every question marks. At least for me.

agreed :) it looks more like word is missing than a question

Ahh! Damn it. I knew it was going to cause problems for me. Its a bad habit I gained in primary school. Ironically, My English teacher at the time was a native french speaker and that's what she taught us about punctuation. It wasn't until high school I learned what I was doing wrong and by then it was already a habit.

why would they hire her for this? thats like hiring someone with a bullshit major like philosophy to do literally anything but teach highschool philosophy in a never ending cycle of wasted lives. (All right class, I know you spell it "knife" but this always struck me as inelegant and wasteful, for the duration of the semester you will get points off unless you spell it "nif".)

I hope you sent feedback otherwise how will they know to correct this ?

Lol , actually this wasn't quite as bad as it sounds. I learned later in high school that what she taught us was the French style of punctuation. It was an international school for expatriates in the Middle East and we had an entire melting pot of nationalities in there. Besides it wasn't as bad as the teacher (who had a post graduate in chemistry) having to teach social studies to the lower classes along with her usual subjects. Any subject other than hard sciences were very lack luster at our school.

than suggest original author to make better title, since i only found that with search for a particular game. if there were more, it wouldn't be objective to search for a maybe-existing thread for each game.
+[]() why not bump it so people can add something? that thread is few days old and last comment is 2 days ago. most of users read newest threads only, so new is still better than one few forum pages in

That is actually a good idea. I guess most people have different idea of what is considered a good title for the thread. I agree that the first thread had a useless title.

As for bumping threads, I usually do that (in the rare few minutes I can scrounge up to lurk in the forums here) but honestly in this case, I was too lazy that day. ( Seriously , I hate long distance flights, they leave you so drained)

I see no indication that it is for a limited time. Blackthorne has been there for 2-3 months, I think, and they recently added Lost Vikings and Rock N Roll Racing.

Rock n Roll Racing is apparently a crippled version with content missing and none of the original music.

I'm guessing this is due to licensing restrictions. I don't see why there's an issue with it since they didn't do much work to port it to a PC, they even ship an SNES emulator with the download. But I guess that's why I'm not a lawyer.

Probably because when you license somebody you usually agree to pay them a certain amount per copies sold and that doesn't combine well with giving it away for free to potentially millions of people.

I use to play Blackthorne (a guy with a shotgun killing orcs, prince of persia style) in my old Pentium 100Mhz.

Yeah I suppose nothing for us in the EU. I'm not too bothered to change the region. The only game I would get is Lost Viking and I already have it on my Sega Mega Drive/ Genesis console (though it is currently at my parents house in the basement. Amazingly enough, it still works).
