i think the person that gave me it was from the US but I'm not sure. Is there a way to check it? I have a hb download link for it

you bought it on humble monthly? if so then yes - it's region free. If you bought gift/key - check Steam.DB

there is no way, but this humble did not include region locked keys, so if it's from monthly humble no matter where it was bought from it's still ROW.
