For everyone who is going to say that this post is exactly like the other window 10 posts, this one was solely made for the reason stated:: for people to share whether or not they will be upgrading. Not the same thing. Also feel free to describe your experience with it so far.

I think that I found the solution. If you are finding the error where it says that the directory cant be found, just delete a bunch of stuff and try again.. Try having at least 15 gigs before downloading.

Upgraded it on the day. Only took about an hour to install, been running pretty well ever since aside from the expected first-run jitters. The only noteworthy glitch I've run across so far is that sometimes when I right-click something in the system tray (Steam, for instance), both the program's context menu and the task bar's context menu pops up. Usually this only happens once between reboots, though, so no biggie. Everything else has been pretty damn swell. It's a lot like Windows 7 but with a fresh coat of paint and some new features.

No way, pretty sure WIN10 is either Skynet or a Cylon.

+1

Totally a Cylon. I saw it gathering in a room holding it's head with Windows 8 and Vista.

Eventually. After compatibility issues are sorted out, drivers are smoothened, and most of my games have patches.

I just installed it yesterday. I was planning to wait a couple weeks so that the major bugs would be removed, but Windows 7 stopped working for me and I couldn't figure out how to fix it, so I just updated it. I like it so far, the interface is way better than Windows 8 in my opinion, but I still liked the Windows 7 start menu better. The only problem I've had with it so far is that Fate won't run on it, which stinks because I really liked that game. It's a very old game, though, so I can't say I'm surprised.

Why would I? I have Windows 7 and it works great (Just built my computer a few months ago and it feels so good to get lots of fps in video games). The only thing I really see of Windows 10 is that it's Windows 7 with Siri. (Cortana)

I'm going to wait 5 months and see what the general feel of it is from people.

Upgraded when it came out. Used for about two hours. Uninstalled and installed Linux Mint on my primary drive and Windows 7 on a small old hard drive (if I ever need it). I don't like where windows is heading so I decided to give Linux a try and now... I am never going back.

This.

I turned to Linux when I saw the disaster that was Windows 8 and I have a hard time believing that Microsoft managed to outdo themselves with Windows 10. I'm not willing to hand my entire private life to Microsoft on a silver platter. Same goes for Google, Facebook and all the other advertising giants.

Arch Linux is my primary OS now and I use Windows 7 for games that are not supported on Linux (luckily, that number is decreasing).

In reality, Windows 10 is not free, it's "free". Vast majority of people are not even aware what they're giving up to use it (their privacy). That's the whole idea behind the "free" model and that was Microsoft's plan all along. Same reason why all of Google's services are "free".

It's funny. Anyone remember this?

Exactly. Valve too care of that with steamos and a lot of games now have linux support (294/925 of my steam games). It hasn't been long I turned to linux so right now I have tested Hearthstone (which works) and Lotro (which doesn't -Yet-).

No. I'm sticking with 7 as long as it does not interfere with my gaming. If shit stops supporting win7 i'l consider moving to 10.

I can't recommend W10 Manager and Classic Shell enough. If you have some spare time you can change W10 into OS of your dreams with those apps. Complete start menu customization, complete context menu customization, deleting shortcut arrows and so much more. Here's mine Start Menu for those curious
