For everyone who is going to say that this post is exactly like the other window 10 posts, this one was solely made for the reason stated:: for people to share whether or not they will be upgrading. Not the same thing. Also feel free to describe your experience with it so far.

Updated from 7 but I used 8.1 for a time too.

Update went without problems, everything is still there and works just like it worked on Windows 7. It's fast, it's smooth and it looks great. Edge is a cool browser too. Seems to me to be similar situation like it was with XP and 7. Many refused to switch back then because XP was "perfect" but we all knew 7 was the shit. Really think Microsoft did a great job here.

Anyway i got these codes for Rising Thunder Alpha, i don't even remember signing in for it. I think it's a fighting game or something. Here you go:

Other then DX12 which is not going to be exclusive to any game or even used in any game for a while, Windows 10 offers me nothing that I need which is why I will not be installing it for at least a year or more, more then likely not till after I pick up a video card that uses DX12, which won't be for a while.

Also something else that makes me not want to install it is that for the home version, you are forced to have updates to the OS. Forced updates are bad because if there is one issue that bricks a system and you don't know about it till it too late, well reformat for you.

And thats another reason why I will not be updating for a while (though I will if I can get the pro version which does allow you to turn off auto updates). Though I heard there is already a crack that will stop the auto updates for the home users.

There are different ways to fight the auto updates.

I use the home version and when I go home from school I need to be quick to catch my bus for example. That is a situation where I can't wait for my laptop to install updates before it turns off. I'm going to set the school connection as metered = it won't install updates.

Also, I have set it to ask me for a better time to restart the system when it has installed updates. This way it won't suddenly restart.

Also I found this site, where they explain how to modify the registry so that you get notifications before downloading updates or something, I think. Sadly the site isn't responding atm... http://www.deskmodder.de/wiki/index.php?title=Automatische_Updates_deaktivieren_oder_auf_manuell_setzen_Windows_10#Windows_10_Home_Updates_deaktivieren

Edit: Ah, now the server responded: It's basically that you have to copy the text from the site into a document, then save it as a .reg document and run it. If you do this, you will be notified when an update is ready to be downloaded.

Mine just started downloading using the app that was down in the bottom right corner of my screen, same app that I reserved Windows 10 through. It all installed without a problem.

Have to wait until I go to college to even have a fast enough connection to download it. Probably gonna wait a bit as well for modders to make Windows 10 patches for any games that need them.

I upgraded to 10 yesterday, I love the interface but it still has some bugs, so expect to put some work into it for an hour or two. But after all the work, it is worth it. If you upgrade and decide you don't like it there is actually an option that allows you to revert back to what you were running before. example: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, etc.

I upgraded. SO far, it's fine, though I have some issues with my audio drivers. Talked to Microsoft Support, was told they'll release a lot of updates within the next week or so, especially for drivers and such.

2lazy4that. Gonna keep using my Windows 7 version, I'm doing fine with it and I don't really feel like I need an upgrade or anything D:

Installed via the media creation tool, at start i was amazed but slowly i started seeing some things i dont like, for my needs its not ready yet but im sure ill do the switch the next year.

My problems:
Sound Card, no win10 drivers yet.
I increased the size of windows by 125% like i have on windows 7 but i notice some apps become blurry ( do i forget something?)
Microsoft edge is really responsive but... needs stuff like addons, notifications, speed infos, etc. its too simple for my needs at this time.
I can't disable my bluetooth dongle via the icon in the taskbar...
Settings are mess, you click on settings and opens the tablet mode settings, you click on some more settings it opens the desktop mode settings, i dont know but its a bit mess for me i still prefer the win7 style settings.
I cant install my samsung printer driver, when i try to install a message comes with: this developer app is forbidden to be installed on windows(you can't continue with the installation whatever you do).

Small matters for the others but for me are important.

When it comes to interface and such I don't really care as there are 3rd party programs that can change this stuff, currently I'm using 8.1 and never even see the tiles/metro ui.
What I am interested in is DX12 as (apparently) my gtx770 has partial support for it.

Basically I'm waiting to make sure that 10 is stable and secure and I probably will update then.

No. All the crap emerging about Win 10 has finally stopped me havering about leaving Windows behind, as I have for years. MS, I can't follow where you want to take me. I'll keep a dual-boot of Win 7 for the games I can only play on it, use it for nothing else and switch to Mint otherwise. Thanks Gaben for pushing Linux so hard lately for games.

I really want to, but I'm not ready for a fresh install and I'm terrified of all data being destroyed in a failed upgrade attempt. So I guess I won't be installing it for a while still.
