End of Watch
The Man from Earth - Doesn't really fit the bill, but a little sad at the end. I guess I just want to promote the movie.
Phone Booth
Taxi Driver
Letters from Iwo Jima - Just a great war movie, but sad through and through, there is no joy in war.
Layer Cake
Saving Private Ryan - It's a war movie. Nobody is happy.
The Bridge on the River Kwai - Another war movie. Still no happy ending.
Boys Don't Cry
Dawn of the Dead(2004)
Into the Wild
Easy Rider
The Departed
Scarface

Battletoads, because you never win so the bad guy does
Also, pac man, because the ghosts win in the end. Trying to evade them makes it only harder and harder until the game becomes corrupt.

Stalag 17 is an older dark comedy movie about WW2 prisioners of war being held in Germany. It was the inspiration for Hogan's Heros.

My faves from the previous choices have to be The Cabin In The Woods and The Mist.
I would also add:
1408
Natural Born Killers
Blood Creek
Book of Blood
Campfire Stories
Drag Me To Hell
Trailer Park Of Terror
I could come up with plenty more straight horror/thriller films but those are some I loved the most.

No one's mentioned Hachi: A Dog's Tale yet? Watch it man. There will be 10 invisible ninjas watching it with you while cutting onions.

Wizard of Oz
That Dorthy should have been sent to HBO's Oz for killing those 2 witches, but she wasn't even prosecuted for her crimes, and she was even allowed to go home. Where is the justice?

EXACTLY. First, she involuntarily manslaughters a lady, and then when the next of kin comes to pick up her sister's belongings, Dorothy steal them! That's a villain right there. But wait, there's more! After pretty much giving this poor, grieving, old woman the finger, she then embarks on a journey to MURDER HER. Entirely premeditated and willful, this one was. All the wicked witch of the west wanted was a family heirloom from her recently passed sister. She didn't want to kill Dorothy, she didn't want to burn down the munchkin village, she didn't want to press charges .She didn't want anything but those shoes. But she couldn't have them. Why? Because she was ugly? Because she had a bad name, or lived in a castle? No; she couldn't have what was rightfully hers because a 14 year old girl from Kansas said so.
Dorothy's the true bad guy.

Why do you want the ending to be spoiled for you? It ruins the fun.

Im pretty bored of those "Yay, you saved the day! ^-^" type of movies.
Do you know any good movies with a somewhat sad ending or one where the villian wins? :)
I didn't expect this amount of suggestions.. thanks! <3
