Need some Star Wars Novel advice.

Heya guys!

I found myself bored today and was browsing through my list of "To buy/read" books, and I decided on something that wasn't on the list!!

I'd really like to try taking a dive into the Star Wars Novel universe, but my oh my, there's a ton there. I was just wanting to see if anyone would be able to share some reading advice with me on them. I found a list online that has the books sorted in chronological order. I just wanted to see if it was recommended to try to go in that way, or if there was any other recommended order to them.

Darth Vader vs Dora the Exlorer trilogy was pretty good. It's really grim and gritty and full of violence though, so I wouldn't reccomend it as a light reading.

Well the obvious Thrawn trilogy has already been mentioned. However I couldn't find anyone mentioning Allegiance by the same author (Timothy Zahn) which I recently finished and thought was quite good.

Thrawn Trilogy and Shadows of the Empire (takes place between ESB and RotJ) are my favorites.
