Supposedly the licensing agreement between SEGA and Disney expires.
You can redownload delisted games but you can never purchase them again so it really is the final chance to get the game.
The source is Sega of Japan and apparently an email from Indie Gala is stating the same thing. The date for the delisting is September 1st according to Sega and September 2nd according to Indie Gala so I suggest buying it ASAP if you want it.

Sega Japan announced that Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (360/PS3) to be discontinued on September 1st.

They didn't mention it because the Steam version isn't available in Japan, but likely being delisted as well.

Suddenly this announcement makes much more sense:
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/indiegala#announcements/detail/601616362325546300

Castle of Illusion $2.24 | €1.94 | 85% + a free Steam key for nail'd

WARNING - This is a region locked game, this game is not available in:
Japan, China, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Hong Kong.

I'm €0.60 off... (>_<)

EDIT: cheaper on Games Planet UK (£1.49 | €1.75 | $1.95), or (£1.40 | €1.66 | $1.85) with the extra 5% off from the "For Uncut!" Steam group; as well as on the Humble Store for monthly subscribers (same price as Indie Gala, at least from EU) after the extra 10% off.

After that... another +1 for removed games collectors...

Uuu.. I actually bought a few copies from Games Planet UK and they automatically assume you are going to sell the copies after the first and require e-mail interaction...

There is no regional restriction on the keys, they can be activated even if in the above areas.

for some reason it was (with 5%) £1.42... but thx for the heads up for the 5% off.

If I buy this now, will steam let me download it and play it 6 months from now? I'm assuming yes but I've never bought a game that was being delisted. I just want to verify.

And this is the 2013 ver. The one that looks good?

As long as you own a game, you can play it even after removal, though online based DRM in some titles can screw people over

This is the remake, I think only pre orders got the original

Thanks. I'm in then. It was not on my whishlist but it looks good, I might as well put it in my Library for later. lol Nail'd is on my wishlist as well so I guess I better do it then.

ha. And I just finished buying the $20 Lev over at Humble. Guess tonight is the night for spending money.

Thanks.

Mind that nail'd uses the older version of Tagès, with the following limits:

3 machine limit, 1 activation added back every 30 days. 5 revocations allowed per month.

At least according to PC Gaming Wiki's info.

Good to know. That is not listed anywhere on the steam page. This won't be a problem in my case. But its still something that should be listed. Both are now bought.

Strangely enough, not even Enhanced Steam shows it... it could even have been removed, for all we know.

It's about 40 cents cheaper than IG in Canadian currency, although you don't get the bonus game that way. IMO IG is still the better deal overall, but if you're looking to pay the lowest amount possible, then yeah BundleStars wins (and perhaps the emailed discount code can be used to bring it down even further).

Just more crap to turn even more people to piracy. Just like how I can't buy "Fuel" from Steam anymore.

You could try this for Fuel. https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/He2Si/fuel-for-only-249
Check first comment. Says it's in stock, I just ordered it, just waiting for it to be dispatched, will update if I receive a key.

Edit: Received it and activated no problem.

That was a bit of a pain. I forgot I had turned mastercards securecode stuff on over a year ago. Indigalla is the first site since then that has used it and I got locked out. After a reset I bought it and got nail'd as a bonus. I normally buy via steam, Humble Bundle or Bundle Stars. After conversion its about 50 cents more then BS would have been but the bonus game is worth more then that.

So I'm good. Thanks for the head up.

when you have a key and want to activate the game after its delisted..does it work?

For most games, that won't be a worry. I doubt Sega is going to invalidate old keys.

I've acquired and activated keys for games that have been delisted, without any problem.
From what I understand, that's typical.... but there are exceptions

Seems like Narnia all over again. Sad to see it removed but with the glaring heads up and the steep discounts going around 3rd party sites, the market is going to be flooded with these keys once removed.

^ i wouldn't call that exactly flooded ... + whats it been like ... ~ 8 -12 months since its removed?

You forgot about traders and dispenser.tf as well as a few other places. Then you have peeps who are waiting for the price to go up more before attempting to sell it.

For a removed game, the market is flooded. Only a small subset of peeps collect removed games and very few peeps in general know about games being removed from Steam in general. Those who generally collect removed games also happen to be traders so it is very common for them to stock a few copies of at risk games as well as buying one for themselves. Thus, the only peeps who would be interested would be new collectors who got into removed games or those who forgot to get a copy in time.

This is generally fine since few peeps want them and few peeps have spare copies which keeps the prices high. However, when a company draws attention to themselves by having a steep discount like Narnia did, they invite others who see the high prices of removed games to buy a few copies themselves since they think they can make a huge profit as well. The problem is that they know very little about removed collectors to begin with, and don't realize that it would take ages for the price to go up in a situation like this. This is why those copies are still so cheap. Hell the game is still cheaper than its original base price of 20$ and is only slighty more than the 2$ sale price it was when it got pulled in May 2015.

Buying games in the hope of making a quick buck with removed collectors will not work since they are generally one step ahead. The only time a price can spike in a short amount of time is when there is little to no notice of a game being removed and it wasn't bundled or have retail copies floating around. You can still find 3rd party retailers selling steam keys for removed games which keeps the prices for these titles low.

Tl;dr: Don't expect making a profit from removed games unless you are willing to wait years.

you forgot that most don't even know or buy from those places ...
they just jump on the first offer some shady re-seller is shelling out (g2a and the lot)

besides ... just checked 5 threads and most were offering for way more than its sold on g2a
cheapest without extensive search - was dispenser for 5 Keys

Generally yes except we are talking removed games collectors. These are folks willing to spend $100s on a single game. Those who are interested in Narnia would be looking for it knowing full well that it is removed and would most likely know of every possible place that would sell a copy.

Folks who are interested in removed games are not ya average peep :P.

Also when the average removed game goes between 25-100 keys, Narnia is stupid cheap.

Yea that's true today, I double checked because I was sure I got it a couple of months ago with Ducktales, and it is in My Apps, but if you wanted to get it now you'll get the region restricted notice, that's a shame :/ For some reason the region restriction didn't stop me back then so I guess I just got lucky. In Ireland for what it's worth.

That's why I purchased this and Duck Tales earlier this year. Never know when the licensed games will disappear. Hopefully the Saint Seiya and Dragonball Xenoverse games will get cheap enough for me to consider.

And yes, I do want to eventually play these games. Not a collector.
