That is strange, have you read the last page of that thread?

As mentioned, it SHOWS as region-restricted, but multiple people in this thread have confirmed there doesn't seem to actually be any restriction.

Could be restricted only when you are in a region with non-ROW gifts (Brazil in this case).

1. Original copy (key), no lock
2. You activate, bonus copy (gift) is locked to your region. Always.
3. You probably will not get SG ban, only "not received" after 7 days
4. Solution, maybe try to trade for key to give yo your GA winner. Or get a ROW copy from a ROW trader. Or Poland copy from Polish trader

When you activate a game that generates extra copies, all of them are locked to the region of activation, regardless if original gift/key was ROW.

I won a game long time ago that generated a extra copy. The gift I got was from a user from USA (so, it has no lock at all). The generated copy had no indication of lock, and I thought it was ROW. I did a giveaway months later and the winner told me he couldn't activate because was restricted to South America (my region). I did my research about this and final result was the statement I wrote above. Then I ended trading with someone from a ROW area for a gift of that game, and swaping the gift with the winner (he sent back the locked copy and I sent him the ROW copy he could activate). He got his win and I got my positive feedback of delivered gift.

I have a gift copy as well. It originaly said it was region locked, but I just checked and it's not anymore. Weird. But I'm in Australia so I assume it would be ROW anyway.

If I call it right packs got locked retroactively to the region where they come from. Let's say I had a 4-pack prior to these locks and it was ROW, once someone activate it the extra copies will be locked (even with no tags) to South America (because I'm brazillian so the 4-pack came from brazillian store)

i have this same problem, active the key ( and get extra gift in inventory ), i live in South East Asian then i give that gift to my Poland friend and he can't active it, really annoying

LOL KEK i got sometime ago the same issue with Defy Gravity Extended. Sadly steam support can only removed gift from my inventory, since also region blocked game i have won.

Pick another copy from tremorgames and send to the winner or try trade the copy region locked.
