Enter giveaways for games that you're interested in. It has worked for me. I've only have around 300 entries and I've been here for almost 7 months, most people act surprised when they look at my entries, but that's not a bad thing. I rather play games I'm interested in than games I will never play.

Getting stuff for FREE and still complaining. Main reason why all my future Giveaways are gonna be contributor only (if they won't remove the value), i can be sure those people appreciate it (too bad for the "nice" guys that can't/didn't contribute yet, i apologize to those.).
