Hello there,
this is a suggestion I have for CG. I recently had my first giveaway created and got through that experience. Felt great :)

Anyway, I see that in my profile it is shown that I have a positive feedback, but it doesn't show the game I gifted, like other open giveaways. I know that some may not want others view the private giveaway page, but there could at least be the game gifted visible. Have the game name not to be a link for example, no comments or entries links, just the game name, picture and winner.

If that is not clear, check this image.

Of course private giveaways should only be visible in profile like that only after the giveaway has ended.

If private giveaways are made accessible in a similar manner as the public ones from the main page's winner list, it would let people go to the giveaway creator and beg to be included in their future private gifts.

But if you are asking only to have your private gifts to be listed alongside your public ones on your profile, no links to inside that giveaway's comments page, yes it might be useful. Though it might still attract the attention of beggars to some degree, maybe in the future we can get "report a beggar button" to save from those.

It seems you are not that familiar to what private giveaways are. If you have the link of a private giveaway you can enter. So no begging for that. The thing is that it would be nice to show private giveaways, but without any link to them, but also visible to the rest after the giveaway has ended. ;)

It would also let people know who holds a lot of private giveaways and who doesn't. This expands beyond just this website because then that one person would get friend-request spammed via Steam. This already happened with a prominent public gifter and showing private giveaways renders the "private" part useless in terms of staying anonymous on this website.

But it is already visible who makes a lot of private giveaways. The current systems shows your positive feedback including private giveaways. Check my profile for instance :)

I am quite familiar with private giveaways thank you. You didn't get what I said above at all though.

Go to the main page, scroll down and look at the Latest Winners. If you see private giveaways there, you can not click to them to see their giveaway page even though they are ended. I was talking about that and how making that accessible would lead to begging.

You didn't get what I said at all too :P

I suggested to have no links at all too. See the screenshot too.

No, on my initial comment I said your idea is a good one. Then you came up with your comments and side-tracked the whole deal :P

Being that I haven't hosted anything yet, I am not sure how valid my criticism to this is, but I think it kinda is a bad idea, or if it is implemented, should be optional. (ie. A setting in our profiles to show/hide that info after it completes) It does discourage the begging that I am sure a lot of givers get, even if the rating is in their profile.

One of my friends for instance hosts only private giveaways for small groups. He isn't particularly active in any other part of the site, but that also hides him from a lot of the beggars, and keeps what he gives out among those who won some of them/ were in his private giveaways.

You can see in someone's profile if they have sometime created a private giveaway, since it shows how many of your giveaways have been successfully received. It just doesn't show which games you gave out. So in any case it is possible for someone to see that you have created a giveaway.

i would also like my private giveaways to appear on profile. I would even like it, if there is a link in my profile, so anyone, checking my profile might get a chance to enter. well, this one should obviously be optional:)

and, btw, it's easy to implement. just put a check-button "show on profile" avaliable to a creator of a private giveaway, so he can check it and put that exact giveaway on his profile at any time he wants. before or after it ends or never.
