Hi

Am thinking of leaving a couple of groups, what is the etiquette around this?
Don't want to annoy any members through doing this wrong.
Thanks

Um ... you just ... duno ... press the leave button ?

Or you can reminice on the good times you had together , all the stuff you played together etc , make a long drama post and leave everyone who loved you so much in that group in tears by the tough of losing you .

it really depends on how much you care about said groups .

Make sync and remove your entries from all giveaways in this groups.
Thats all ^^

Ahh, also some people try to fix in-group ratio before leaving 😊

My reasoning is not just randomly (not saying you're randomly leaving one) leaving a group, but over a disagreement, so this isn't exactly the same most likely:

Anyway, last group I left, I gave away a $50 non-bundle game... because of a rule change demanding 10P bundle game per month. That was far too time-consuming for me, given the nature of how silly it was in my opinion, and not what I signed up for. I pushed for non-bundle instead, but my arguments never panned out. I am in far too many groups already and it's too hard to check steam or label every single key by steam value. Also, values may change depending on where you buy, so it makes the point irrelevant. Easy to just check members through sg users tab in the group (value diff/sent/received ratio) to see overall numbers if that stuff really concerns you. Leechers are easy to spot.
Wished them well in the description, and left right after winner marked it as received. Hoping my experience can help somehow!

What are ya gonna do when the members see this thread and wonder..

Just post in the discussions or the chat box and say thanks for the time being in but you are going to leave <insert reason or no reason> and say goodbye.

If they're giveaway groups, you might not want to leave if you have a bad ratio. Usually make a gib or two announcing you're leaving is what I've seen a few do. If it's just a social group, you could just mention to a mod or admin that you're leaving, or bring it up in chat.

i just left most groups.
if you feel any attachments to a group, post on the wall, join chat (if there is an active one), or talk to a mod.

Once I left group without saying anything and when I wanted to join another one, a member of that old group made drama in the topic of the new group because of it. So I recommend to write it somewhere. Write it, for example, to the group discussion page on Steam or say it to a group master.

i left almost all my groups 2 weeks ago, and i didn't feel like i had to warn them or say goodbye. i'm not essential so there's no need to announce what i'm doing.
might be different for others though.
