Is there any application or a tool to run a particular game in background (Background as in when you use Idle Master) just to increase hours of game play.?

How about just leaving the game on without using any special program?
I recommend that if you just want gameplay hours

Actually there are 3 things:

  1. Leaving the game use resource a lot.
  2. I have to download the game to just leave it open.
  3. A tool might come in handy for the job.

Why do you want to do that? I don't get it.

Perhaps (and this is just me speaking out my ass) it's this reason.

There are some sites that giveaway games (but it's not automated or treated like SG) and if you are caught "Hoarding games" (as in winning/requesting games, but not playing them.) or not putting enough time into it you can get suspended or even banned.

But then again it might not be that reason.

Couldn't you just run it for cards and be fine though (without idle master)? That takes like an hour and you can just watch TV or something while you wait

Maybe he could, but he stated he doesn't want to have the games downloaded and it takes up resources to run the games in the background.

Also OP stated they want a tool to make it easier.

This isn't the reason.!

Ah then forgive me. I'm unsure of the reasons, but I've seen it happen a lot so it was a reaction to that, but yeah you shouldn't lie to your GF about games. Activate the game and maybe you 2 can play together or something. BL2 is really fun game and it's 1000X more enjoyable with friends/loved ones :)

Why?

My girlfriend gifted me borderlands 2 and she wants me to play. She is on Steam and she know i haven't activated the game yet.!
I just want because of that :D Maybe a lame reason but yes :(

you can just logon when you go to sleep.
or when you go outside.
but honestly? if you need to lie to your girlfriend about games... well, it's only downhill from that.
trust is the most important thing.
and shooting stuff ofcourse ;)

I know this suggestion sounds crazy and all but... have you considered... I dunno... maybe actually trying the game out and playing it for real? :P
It's really nice.
And your girlfriend probably wants you to play co-op with her if she got the game for you.

I really see no reason in faking it. It'll still be glaringly obvious that you aren't doing shit when you have playtime in it but absolutely no achievements.

...and after 10h idling she will ask you what you think about the game, and whether claptrap is the best robot ever or not (spoiler alert YES HE IS and look at him he's dancing! ), and your cheating will be discovered :D:D:D:D:D

There is a way but is isn't good for your computer(possible). If you start the game and then change the date in your bios, quit the game, then reset the bios date it works. This can mess up things with your computer in general so be cautious. Why would you want more hours? I'm confused. Just to leave a review on a steam game to say "its okay" with 15,000 hours?

I don't know why you want to do that, but you can do it changing the Steam App id, just like before iddlemaster

There is a way to do it, pretty much what exactly idle master does but without targeting games with card drops remaining. I'm not exactly sure on how to do it but I think its pretty simple, creating an exe or something on your desktop to run a steam appid (the game you want). Steam will think you're running said game.

Can idle master target just one game.??

Yes. It's exactly what it does. It gives you a list of games you own, and all you have to do is click the game you want. Steam will detect as if you are currently running the game.

But Idle Master runs only games with Cards.! Once the cards runs out can it trigger the game.! I guess nope.!

Oh, I'm sorry, I misread... I thought we were speaking about SAM. SAM will do that for you.

Probably but you'd have to edit some things and I wouldn't know where to begin.

I remember doing what you want by just making a .exe or a .bat, dont remember much since it was a while ago but you get it to simulate the APPID of a game.

You could also try whats explained here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/2aqyhj/guide_how_to_safely_farm_trading_cards_without/

I've never tried that but you could just get a game that literally uses up next to no resources.

yes it's safe,
you don't even have to login inside the app to use,it just needs steam running in the background.......
and i'm not sure but i think it was made by the same person behind idle master...

It was not. The person who makes Idol Master makes Enhanced Steam, and the...I forget the name, but the bot friend invite blocker thing, but not SAM. The person who makes SAM also makes something else though, a Borderlands save editor I think.

That said, yes it is most likely safe. And you don't even have to touch the achievement part of it, just open a game window and leave it open to idle. Cards can be idled in this manner, though most people probably use Idle Master for that these days.

I know one way but u have to run another game application.
U can get even Steam Cards Drop without downloading a game at all.

Donwload a small game (I use Adventure Capitalism ,its a F2P)
Go to its folder located in steam (where u have installed it)
Open the txt file called "appid".I meantime search in google for the game u want to play "appid"
For Example cs id = "10"
Edit txt file and add just a 10 inside.Run Adventure Capitalism NOT BY USING STEAM
just run throw .exe,u will be playing this small game and u can just leave it running
but steam will say u are playing counter-strike.

Its good idea to get Cards Drop for BIG game u don't want to download and play
but u have it in your library.
