It would be great if DIG got rid of the minimum deposit. I understand the issue with payment fees, but I won't commit 5 bucks to buy a 10 cents game.

No, you don't.

Or how do you want to pay the 10cent game without exo losing money in the trade?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I do. I assume exo means DIG. In any case, Humble and Amazon allow payments of less than $1, so I guess DIG could at least match that. $5 is not an acceptable threshold, but then again, I can live without buying from DIG.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, exo (exosyphen) is the owner.

Well... Humble as well as amazon are way bigger than DIG and can get way better fees from the paymentproviders.

The "normal" fees for shops are still way to high to allow for transactions in cents.

The old system was indeed better (mintopup 0.01$ but you pay the fees extra, so you would have payed 0.45 for a 0.1 game) but that changed with the new paymentprovider.

Again, I'm not denying the problem here, I'm justing saying the $5 minimum is too much. Maybe they could consider Steam items trade-ins.

Maybe they could consider Steam items trade-ins.

No respectable website would ever do that. Only Counterstrike GO betting sites, sites like Tremor games or where you can buy sets of Steam Trading cards allow that.

I think some of the reasons they wouldn't are 15% is huge fee to cash in those items (they could pass that on to the customer but still fishy) and even more importantly What use would Steam Wallet be for a business ?. And selling those items one at a time for PayPal just isn't feasible for a real business.

I don't think accepting trade-ins would automatically make them... non-respectable, but I see your points. Maybe there just isn't an ideal solution, or maybe most people aren't as sensitive to this deposit issue as I am. Also, it looks like they want to focus on bulk sales, so there's that.

On a related note I still have some DIG points left from when they still had Bundles and no idea what to with them now :\
If you tell me what game you're interested in I could probably buy it for you. If it's just a ~ 10 cent game there's no real need to give me something in return ;)

Yeah, apparently it's all à la carte now. Which sucks a little bit for me because I mainly liked them for their reasonably priced Artifex Mundi Bundles (2 Bundles = 12 AM games for 1,49$) and now that you have to buy the games seperately they are roughly 2,5x as expensive :(

Barter is pretty much back and under semi-active management/development.

I agree it's confusing at first. The basic idea is everyone has a Wishlist and a Tradable. Then the site can search for Matches between people who both have games that each other wants.

A Match gives you the option to create an Offer. You see a list of all your tradables, sorted by their wishlist on top. And a similar list of their tradables with your wishlist on top. You checkbox the games you're looking for, and add them to the offer. You can do a simple 1 for 1 or 2 for 1. Or a more complicated offer, like any 3 of these 7, for any 2 of those 5.

When you send (or receive) an Offer, it has a time attached (typically 3-7 days) for the other person to Accept, Decline (with reason), or Counter. Meaning to send you back a different offer based on the offer sent.

Once you've accepted an offer, you friend them on Steam and do the trade. Afterwards, mark the trade status as Complete. As a warning, many experienced traders are very casual when trading low-value bundle games. An offline message with no introduction and the game key is pretty normal.

There are all sorts of options and tags you can add to your Tradables, and your Wishlist, but they're not strictly necessary. Tier tags do help with games that have been at different levels of bundles, but different people interpret them differently, and some games are at different levels in different bundles.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this system, either. I'm actually ok with there being a $5 minimum to buy in bulk, but the bigger issue is that there is a constant $5 multiplier. This means that I have to calculate a purchase that comes out as close to a multiple of 5 as possible, or else I'm just leaving money in that DIG account, which is not where I'd like it to be.

The payment system (the last time I checked, which admittedly was a couple of months ago) seemed really sketchy, too. The whole thing just made me back out of my purchase.

I've bought from them before back when they still had bundles...but with those, you just paid for what you wanted to buy straight from Paypal or whatever. The hoops I have to jump through to make bulk purchases hardly seem worth it. If they'd just open up a normal payment method and slap a $5 minimum for bulk purchases, I'd think about it. But buying virtual DIG bucks in $5 increments through that weird payment system before I can make a purchase...sorry, I'll pass.

It's too bad...I liked buying stuff from there before. But there's just too much game-playing involved to buy anything now. :(

$5 increments? That makes even less sense than the $5 minimum itself!

By the way, if I may ask, why do you buy in bulk? Massive giveaways?

Permalink

Yes. If you want to give away a lot of games and level up faster, this would be a good way to do it. But I just won't do their silly $5 increment purchase-fake-website-money thing. If they ever just let me buy what I want and pay for it directly, then I might come back and do that.

The payment system (the last time I checked, which admittedly was a couple of months ago) seemed really sketchy, too. The whole thing just made me back out of my purchase.

How so? They seem to be using Fastspring, which is a very reputable payment processing platform. Lots of developers have used them for selling their software directly to consumers, which is where I'm familiar with them from.

Mind you, I agree that when making Paypal payments, they should not require postal address and other info, but you can fill in anything in those fields since Paypal payments do not require anything more than a matching email.

But buying virtual DIG bucks in $5 increments through that weird payment system before I can make a purchase...sorry, I'll pass.

For the record, as it is with Steamground, there are the official payment methods, and then there are undocumented methods of payment which may be useful to you. I remember DIG accepting direct Paypal funded top ups for less than the standard $5. You might contact the DIG owner and see if he's still accepting that.

FYI, Make sure you hit the reply button under a message so that the original person gets notified of your message.

Regarding your issue, support can help with changing the game. You can delete your own giveaways, but then you lose slots to create more. To recover those, you'll need another ticket.

Comment has been collapsed.

you will have to submit a ticket to support to delete the giveaways I am afraid - if you are not going to provide them to the winners :( - sorry about that - you might be able to get them cheaper than steam, as most of the rest of us do - but you will have to search for the on sites like DIG, Humble Bundle, Indiegala, GOG, Fanatical.com etc... to know if that is the case
for instance - is there an deal will give you information on where to find some games for cheap - https://isthereanydeal.com/
start off small and with games you know you have keys for - like a bundle from indigala or fanatical - for instance fanatical has this one :
https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/fanatical-starter-bundle
which is a good starter for giveaways and cheapish
or indigala has this one that is good : https://www.indiegala.com/hump-day-steam-bundle-52

that offers some good games cheaply that will give good giveaways
or you can pay humble bundle $1 and get the first tier of these bundles:
https://www.humblebundle.com/games/hunie-sekai-bundle?hmb_source=navbar&hmb_medium=product_tile&hmb_campaign=tile_index_3
https://www.humblebundle.com/games/classics-return-bundle?hmb_source=navbar&hmb_medium=product_tile&hmb_campaign=tile_index_1

remember pay on $1 for those if you want tier 1 of the games - you pay more if you want more tiers and games

you may have to ask support for some giveaway slots, as it is possible that deleting the giveaways removed your only slots, but as it was a mistake they may not have done so - you are new after all :)

enjoy your time here and have fun :)

So I just noticed that I have 6 positive ratings and 6 negative ratings, even though I'm sure that all Steam keys I sold on DailyIndieGame were valid. I'm not sure why there are people which give fake negative ratings to other traders, maybe they want to eliminate the competitors, I'm not sure. The fact is that I have 435 positive reputation on SteamTrades and not a single SteamRep report because I don't sell invalid Steam keys.

I doubt that anything is going to be done to fix this, so I'll just keep selling my Steam keys for no profit on the Steam group "Group Buys", atleast I have direct contact with the other traders there and never had someone complain about an invalid Steam key.

it may honestly of been some developer deactivating steam keys, or something along those lines. i mean i don't know what all you trade/sell on that site, but i know i've had to mark the same game negative around 6-7 times because the dev revoked all those keys. at least, if you do mass copies of the same game that may be a possibility anyways.

edit: after second reading, i doubt that's the case. it was just the first thing that came to mind.

So it will "work" with the newly added keys for a while, and as old keys sell out it will get better.

Hello exophen
wtf o_o

Your seller rating system really sucks.
Arbitrary, with absolutely no dispute system.
I have a good amount of sales. (and apparently a good amount of them without given feedback (that should be automatically be positive if buyers doesn't declare it negative, as, he is supposed to use it immediately. Most of time only buyers with negative experience will put a (negative) feedback.)

For my case.
One of previous buyers bought several times in a row same game same day and put them all as bad. (they were from same source, and I have checked if i might have swapped them with
And one last put bad mark for a bit more expensive game. (from humble monthly bundle). I track absolutely all my keys in spreadsheet, where I got them, where i use them, and when i put it on sale.

It put my seller rate under 80% it automatically locked my wallet until i refund some of games. Don't you see any possible abuse ?
But what now bother me, is that all supposedly bad keys have been refunded automatically from my wallet today, without decision from my part and without prior notice of your sudden decision.

I am now back to 100% seller rate... great, I can now use my dig wallet again...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

And now I have just noticed, this is even worse.
You took more credits from my wallet than the amount I received for each refunded game I previously sold...

EDIT : and just noticed, that was the case too for previous refund i gave... (key from a not that trustful source i thought, so it made me insta agree to refund immediately)
and wahoo... you... don't refund your cut, you take money from sellers...
That's a way to f*** users that use your platform to sell keys.

Think about it : someone sells a game, then refund the game. How do you deal with this kind of refund. Sellers get a negative wallet ?
You are actually screwing people that are selling more than one game and not spending their wallet as soon as they can.
But knowing this, maybe they won't be numerous in the future.

don't refund your cut, you take money from sellers...

Most of digital market places or payment providers work in such way, for example Paypal or G2A.
Of course, I don't like it too, but that's how they earn their money: you may get profit or loss, but they get their cut regardless.

About feedback system: auto-feedback will be really helpful for sellers, but, considering possibility of revoked keys, timeout should be long enough, for example 1 month looks good. I don't see easy way to deal with negative feedback when it comes to steam keys, because there is no reliable way to verify when it was used and by whom.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Idk for g2a which is notoriously known to suck your money in every possible (bad) ways, so it might not be the best reference!!...
paypal is a dedicated payment plateform with a virtual payment device.
i know kinguin is not refunding its fees with seller wallet. (well from what i know/checked...)
also, g2a and kinguin are selling some kind insurance. And kinguin is refunding from seller wallet at seller discretion, in all case.
It doesn't assume seller fault and use their wallet without their prior consent.
Amazon doesn't use your wallet content without your prior consent in case of some fees to pay if ever needed.

For sellers here in DIG plateform, it is just spoilation without communication.
If I decide I won't refund for keys (I could eventually give replacement) when I think buyers are scamming me, why Exosyphen suddenly forces me to refund them after weeks ?

I am just waiting for his position now.

In the meanwhile, I just advise anyone not to store large amount of wallets and to spend it as soon as they get money from sales.
(because yes, when we sale on his plateform we instantly get credits from our sales, without delay) So it is definitely not foolproof... Only regular users who doesn't try to abuse system will get impede...

To answer a few things:

  1. Your positive rating is 100% - whatever is rated negative. If somebody doesn't rate your key, it accounts as positive.

  2. When issuing a refund, it is for the full amount including fees, not because we make a profit out of THAT (we actually made $102.34 from refund fees to day, in 9 months. $12/month).
The reason is to avoid the MarketPlace becoming a place where people just dump whatever they have without checking, on the basis that they can refund whatever didn't work and keep the money for whatever worked. It would ruin the user experience.

  3. We do police the MarketPlace. And we are damn good at it. To date, 2.04% of all trades (in dollar amount, NOT key counts) was rated negative or refunded after rated negative. Let's assume by absurd that every negative rating was a fraud. It's just 2.04 cents for every dollar.
How do we police it? It's a pretty complex math thing that cross-references a bunch of stuff on both seller and buyer side and checks for patterns.

There is also a buyer rating. ONLY displayed to the seller, and us, so it can't be gamed.
We check that daily. If somebody goes way over the average (say 10 times more) and all keys come from different buyer, it's a one click thing to clear the ratings.

and last but not least, why on Earth do you write whole pages on a forum instead of contacting us? We are here to help.

I was kinda upset that all keys were refunded without my prior consent, all at once.
As you have given prior support here on SG forums, I felt I could expose my case here too.
Maybe, that automatic refund was an error, and in that case, I should probably have requested a private feedback first.
Maybe that wasn't an error, so people should know about it. Especially if sellers are kinda forced to refund (and are cleaned back to 100% positive rating...)

Hello,

We have made some changes to the marketplace, and the minimum price at which a key can be listed, is $0.2

Keys that you see at lower prices, were added before we made this change.

Welp, it was fun while it lasted I guess. No price drops to 0.05$ after setting 0.2$ price anymore, right?

I noticed this as well yesterday. It appears to be a permanent fixture, even if you try to adjust the price lower, it won't budge. So for those who already have their listings lower than 0.20, they'll get priority where the rest will have to wait or if they are lucky enough to sell even a few. 😢

probably done to stop people undercutting the DIG points store prices they set for the same games !

Should just apply it to games being sold on the store or make it so you can't sell games that are the store

Yeah, he is probably reselling Otaku and GO GO bundles with 20 points because 90% of last added games of DigPointStore has them.

Hmm, this is just my guess, but I think the reason for the huge overlap in junky bundles lately is because garbage game +1 "publishers" are selling cheap keys to all the different bundle sites.

There's probably an asset flip/shovelware seller forum somewhere so these people can all find each other. :)

I think Exosyphen said previously in the thread somewhere that there's a mailing list that all the stores/bundle sites are on where developers/publishers offer up to sell keys in bulk. And it seems like DIG/Otaku just say "yes" to everything basically. :P

It will definitely reduce volume on the Marketplace. But overall income might be similar. I guess we'll see.

Personally, there are tons of games I bought at 10 points that I won't buy at 20 points.

Yep. Lots of games aren't really worth $0.20 (i.e. those from "dollar bundles" like the latest from Fanatical, some 15 games for $1 makes each game worth ~0.06).

Very bad. DIG WAS a great place to buy some free bad games. But 0,20? better wait for bundles outhere.

Now looks like he changed it to 0.15 minimum price in the marketplace (with 20% fee). :P

We ask people to avoid using shorteners, but I think I can let it slide in this one case. You have managed to provide the information without turning this post into a free ad for DIG, and there are no reference or "forced action" links that I've noticed.

oh wow, so sorry about that. i only did it because i kept hitting the max character wall without it. i even hit the wall a couple times with shorteners until i removed some of the unnecessary information from the thread. but no, there is certainly no hidden redirects/referrals or anything even remotely close to that. it's direct links to corresponding sites. (i was even picky enough to make sure all links were also https://)

i also no longer maintain the thread, and have no idea about the status of DIG. (havent been here or on any bundle sites in months until just a few moments ago)

the site seems completely revamped compared to when i was last here. looks good. :D

Now it's a 25% fee with minimum 5 points fee. So if you sell for less than 20 points you'll pay a higher fee.

wouha...
yes... and i guess it applies retro-actively to all keys (i still need to spend some time to remove them all from that store) you set up previously for different sale terms... i don't remember any communication by the way...

Basically seems like the "AAA" games section is just him buying bundles or deals from other sites and then doubling or tripling the prices. And most of those games would not be considered "AAA" by any reasonable person. I think in DIG the "AAA" means "not 1-cent asset-flip garbage" :P

I used to have an account on DIG, just wanted to log in /reset password, but it says there is no account associated with my email. this cannot be true becuase i have a confirmaiton email from 2016 with the same email address. Does it have anything to do with me unsubscribig from the email notifications? I unsubscribed on the end of June.

If my memory serves, there is a notification some time back, which mentions that the account will be deleted if not accessed within a year.

those fees are rediculous, used to be a decent spot to unload keys I didn't need, from bundles, but now with the fees the games sit there with nobody buying them.. and it's less worth it for me to even bother listing them...

Yea that fee thing is really frustrating, 20% was already a lot, but when it comes to 25% i don't know what to say. I am just being surprised of how owner is greedy .
Why don't you want to set it on 30% then? I mean why not, then it will bring you more money, right?
